Did you know... that you can make the time you spend looking at our auctions FAR more productive by sorting our auction galleries by year, condition, or price?

One of our longtime regular bidders called a while ago and asked about the exact condition of an item from the 1930s we were auctioning, and by chance I mentioned "Did you also see the similar item from another 1930s movie we have?" He answered, "No, but I am sure glad you pointed it out to me because I might have missed it, because you auction so many items"!
So I said, "You mostly only collect items from the 1930s, so why don't you sort the items by YEAR, and then you won't miss any" and he said "I would love to, but I have no idea how to"! I explained to him how to do so, and he was very happy and said he will be sure to do every time he goes to our galleries.
That got me to wondering if there aren't many others of you who don't realize about many of the great features our galleries have! So here is a "refresher course" in the most popular features of our galleries, and learning how to use them will surely make the time you spend on our site far more productive!
Our galleries have some really powerful yet easy to use features to help you find items that interest you. Of particular note is the "Sort" option that allows you to sort our galleries using 14 different methods including by Lot #, Price, Year, Title, Condition, Time Left, and Type (and within each method, you can sort in both directions, such as oldest to newest and newest to oldest, etc).

Perhaps the three most useful sorts for most collectors are Price, Condition, and Year.

  • You can use the Price sort to see the current highest priced items (for those of you most interested in "top" pieces) or the current lowest priced items (for those of you looking for the best "bargains").
  • You can use the Condition sort to see the best or least condition items in an auction, which is great if you are very condition conscious (or if you are not condition conscious at all).
  • You can use the Year sort to see the oldest or newest items in an auction, which is great if you mostly collect "newer" posters or "older" posters.

The galleries will even remember your settings!

To use these Sort options, go to one of our auction galleries (such as our Tuesday Auction Gallery), and look to the right of the Search box for the "Sort" options. Then just click on the white box and a list of all the options will appear. You then need only click on the option you want.

Below are some "screenshots" of the Sort options that illustrate exactly where you want to click. We've added red boxes around the areas of interest to better draw your attention to them. Why not go to our auction galleries right now and try it out?

One final note: If you want to get back to the default sort, simply select "Lot # (Ascending)" from the list and the galleries will revert back to the original auction order.

And don't forget about our great "Search Filters" located just to the left of our galleries. They are different from the Sort options, because those let you look solely at any type of items you would like to see in each set of auctions.

Between our Search Filters and Sort Options, you have no reason to think you will ever miss any item that interests you, even though we auction 999 items at a time!
