Remember in the wonderful movie, The Maltese Falcon, a bunch of people are after this priceless relic, but it always stays out of their grasp? And one man, Kasper Gutman, says that he has been searching for it for 17 years, and when given a chance to get finally get the Falcon through sacrificing a man who had "been like a son to him, Gutman says, "A man can have many sons, but there is only one Maltese Falcon"?

We were just consigned one of the two styles of first release French one-panel poster from this classic movie. The other style sells for many thousands, and is VERY desirable, but there are a number of existing examples. But to the best of my knowledge, there is just ONE of the style we have just been consigned, and it first appeared at auction over 40 years ago, and has never been seen again. Until now!

It will start in our July Major Auction on July 18th, and after the auction closes 3 weeks later (and LOTS of dollars change hands!), it will have a new owner, and it may never again appear at auction. It truly IS "the stuff that dreams are made of"!

And I have to admit I will be happy when the poster is safely with its new owner. There has been a heavy set older gentleman asking about the poster, in various places around West Plains and flashing a bunch of thousand dollar bills, and he was heard to say, "Forty years I've wanted that item, and have been trying to get it all that time"!
