eMoviePoster.comDid you know... that it takes a MASSIVE amount of work to assemble a major auction every two MONTHS?Return to Did You Know Archive Added: 06/22/2020 In 2020, we made two HUGE changes to our auctions. The first, which was immediately obvious at the start of the year, was that we went from 3 sets of weekly auctions to 3 sets of bi-weekly auctions. But the second, which did not receive a lot of attention right away, was that we switched from holding four (and sometimes five) Major Auctions each year to having SIX scheduled for 2020, which of course works out to one every two months! Now you may be thinking "What's an extra major auction (or two) over the course of an entire year?", but we assure you it is a VERY big difference! Why? Because it means that the moment one auction ends, we need to IMMEDIATELY start working on the next one, so that we can finish it on time. It also means consignors have to send their items quickly. For example, in the case of the upcoming September Major Auction, we are already taking consignments for it, even though our July Major Auction hasn't started yet. And the July Major Auction will end on July 12th, and the final deadline to consign to the September Major Auction is July 17th, just five days later! Now we don't mind
all this very hard work (and time crunches) as long as two things remain true: 2) We continue to have lots of great bidders and buyers, so that we are continuing to get the highest prices overall for true rarities and desirable items. So that means whether we hold six major auctions in 2021 (or drop back to five or four) is completely in the hands of our consignors and bidders! If we receive lots of top quality consignments each month for the rest of the year, we will try hard to maintain our "once every other month" major auction schedule. And if YOU have true rarities and desirable items you have considered selling (whether a few, or a large collection), then please contact us very soon, and you can quickly see those items in our upcoming major auctions!
