Most long time collectors love to talk nostalgically about the "good old days" many years ago, when you could buy great posters for very little money, and while that is true to some extent, most such posters were rare even a long time ago, and you had to be "in the loop" of the top circle of collectors and dealers to ever get offered such posters! But nowadays, the Internet has opened the hobby to everyone, and great access to so much material has mostly leveled the playing field.

And yes, some dealers have sky high prices on rare material (which is their right!), and most auctions have reserves at a retail level (whether they admit to it or now, using workarounds like letting consignors bid on their own material, etc), but there still is ONE major auction where every item truly starts at $1, with no reserves and no buyers premiums, and every item REALLY sells to the highest bidder!
