Did you know... the reason we don't store your purchase history, credit card data, or other personal data on our website?

Many times customers contact us and ask us WHERE on our site they can access their complete purchase history. We tell them that they can't, because we DON'T store that data (or their credit card or other personal data) on our site. We tell them that they can have us email them their complete purchase history at any time, and we also tell them that when they submit credit card and other personal data to us, it may be transmitted online (via our site or email), but that we don't store that data anywhere on our site.

When they ask us WHY that is, we tell them that major company after major company has had a major "hack" of their website, and that time after time they grudgingly admit (sometimes long after the fact) that customer data was breeched by the hackers, and they advise all their customers to change their passwords, and sometimes they offer something like a year's free protection against identity theft.

Just recently, a major auction site went "down" for three DAYS, and during that time no one could access their site. They said it was a "malware" attack, and that no data had been breeched, and while we certainly hope that was true, it also is likely that it would be prudent for anyone who used that site to change their password there (and change passwords anywhere else they used the same one), and also beef up their identity theft protection.

We don't feel it is much of an inconvenience to have to ask us for your auction history or to confirm changes you want to make to your saved information if it means that all our customers and consignors can rest easier knowing their information is NOT stored on our site, and we hope you agree too!
