For the past few years we have held 3,000 auctions every week (with few exceptions). This has taken a tremendous amount of work on the part of all of us here, but in the last year that has gotten even harder. Why? It is because a high percentage of our auctions USED TO BE pretty standard sizes, like one-sheets, lobby cards, inserts, half-sheets, and three-sheets.

But over the past few years we have steadily increased our auctions of "non-standard" sizes, most especially non-U.S. posters from all over the world, but also signed items, stills, and all sorts of unusual items like programs, books of all kinds, and much more. WE ALSO NOW AUCTION EVERY KIND OF POSTER, whether or not they are movie related, and those "non-movie" posters take far more work to prepare than any other kind of poster we auction, especially when they are written in languages other than English.

We have greatly enjoyed expanding what we auction, but the problem is that these unusual items take FAR more time to prepare for auction than standard items. So we find that trying to keep preparing 3,000 auctions every week is getting harder and harder to do!

So we have decided that for June, July, and August we will have significantly smaller Sunday auctions (likely 300 to 500 items each Sunday), and we will see how that affects us. We think there is a good chance this will "lighten our load" enough that we can keep up with the auctions, but only time will tell.

If it turns out that we can do more than that, then we will resume full Sunday auctions at the end of the summer. If it turns out that it is still too much for us, then we will likely eliminate the Sunday auctions altogether. But we make no predictions now!

Of course, if we were to receive very large consignments of standard sizes (like a truckload of folded one-sheets and lobby cards!), then we would likely easily be able to go back to 3,000 auctions a week. So if any of you reading this have lots of items like that, please contact us soon!
