The world no longer needs "a five cent cigar", but it DOES need one dollar movie posters, and fortunately lots of those can still be found in our 140,000 annual auctions!

But in fact, "everybody" is wrong, at least when it comes to OUR auctions! It IS true in many other so-called "$1, No Reserve" auctions, where you quickly learn that there is fine print that puts a MASSIVE minimum $19 buyers premium on all purchases, so that "$1, No Reserve" poster ends up costing you TWENTY DOLLARS (and sometimes there are exorbitant shipping costs as well, so a $1 purchase can end up costing you $35 or much more), and some auctions don’t like to combine purchases, and some even charge surcharges on card payments. We started our auction company because we knew there had to be a better way!

In OUR auctions (at www.eMoviePoster.com), we have NO buyers premiums at all, so a $1 poster is REALLY a $1 poster (and in many of our auctions, you can pay a single shipping charge no matter how many items you purchase from that set of auctions)! But are there really many items that sell for just a few dollars each? Here are the hard cold facts! In 2018 alone we held a grand total of 139,984 auctions. Of those:

That means that over 83,000 of the 139,984 auctions we held in 2018 ended at under $20 each! We know that in those auctions with the $19 buyers premiums, they did not have even ONE auction end at under $20, because even when an auction ends at just $1 in their auctions, the $19 buyers premium brings it to $20, so EVERY auction they hold costs the buyer at least $20, plus shipping.

Doesn't it make sense to spend your money where it goes the absolute furthest? We only charge the actual cost of shipping (often far less, when a buyer buys multiple items). Every week, we auction around 3,000 items in our Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday auctions combined, and it is a certainty that some fair percentage of them sell for "bargain" prices in every set of auctions, and there are often some absolute "steals"!

Of course, we also sell LOTS of high quality movie paper, and OUR sales results are 100% accurate (you don’t see items coming back to auction over and over). In 2018 alone, we auctioned 9,947 items for over $100, and we auctioned 352 items for $1,000 or more, and every one of those items had accurate condition descriptions!

Our total sales for 2018 were $5,594,155 (which means we have averaged five million in sales per year the past seven years), and we have now held over 1,531,000 auctions in all! Our total sales have substantially risen over the 28 years we have been auctioning movie paper, while most other auctions keep seeing steadily declining total sales, and eBay, once the foremost place to auction vintage movie posters, has virtually totally imploded!

"MISSED IT THAT MUCH"

As noted above, we had another blockbuster year in 2018, with $5,594,155.00 in sales. But we came unbelievably close to topping our all-time sales record (set in 2017) of $5,596,923.00. This truly IS a case of "missing it by THAT much", as seen in the chart below:

Of course, $2,768 out of $5.6 MILLION is statistically insignificant, and since last year's total shattered our previous year's best by around $400,000, we are still very, very proud of this result.
