eMoviePoster.comDid you know... that eMoviePoster.com's Black Friday Sale will be held in January, NOT November?Return to Did You Know Archive Added: 11/13/2017 Last year in 2016, for the first time, we held a "Black Friday Sale" on the day after Thanksgiving, where we slashed the prices on many of the items in our "Fixed Price" section of our website (at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/2.html), and we also added a bunch of new items we had not previously offered before. The prices stayed fixed at those low prices until midnight that night, and the next day we filled all the orders that were placed, except in some cases where we had "oversold" our supply (and we had warned buyers that could happen, but fortunately it only happened on a few titles). Then, the following Monday, we slashed the prices even further on those posters where we did not sell even one example of on Black Friday, and offered those posters at even lower prices yet, and again, the prices stayed fixed at those low prices until midnight that night, and the next day we filled all the orders that were placed, except in some cases where we had "oversold" our supply (and we had warned buyers that could happen, but fortunately it only happened on a few titles). The two day event was very successful, resulting in the sale of 755 fixed price posters, for a total of $16,129.00 in sales! People have been emailing us, asking, "Are you going to hold another such event this November 24th?" (when retail stores will hold their Black Friday Sales). The answer is that NO, we WON'T hold a Black Friday Sale on November 24th (because of how extremely busy we are with all our "regular auctions", the aftermath of our Halloween auctions, and the final preparations for our December Major Auction, which starts December 3rd). But our intention is that we WILL hold a Black Friday Sale in January (or possibly early February)! The date has not yet been set, but it will be as the time draws closer. Why are we doing this? The reason stores hold their Black Friday Sale on the day after Thanksgiving is that this is the day that kicks off the holiday shopping season. But does that apply to collectible movie paper? We don't think so! We have not seen a lot of people buying them as gifts (although that is sad, because they DO make perfect gifts for any movie paper collector, or anyone who has a favorite movie or star). So we think it will just as successful (and maybe more so) if we hold it on a quiet Friday and Monday in late January or early February, and so that is what we will be looking to do. So watch these club messages for announcements about this upcoming special event!
