We previously announced that we may or may not have a Major Auction at the beginning of the Summer (which is now called our "June Major Auction", now that we have scheduled the dates it runs). Now, it has been decided!

Our next major auction will be our June Major Auction, held starting June 8th, followed by our August Major Auction (at the end of that month), and then we will have our 18th Annual Halloween Auction at the end of October, and we will wrap up 2017 with our December Major Auction in early December!

Because we are one of the only auctions around that REALLY auctions everything (without reserves, hidden or otherwise), that means that we are "starting over" with each new major auction, just as we are now. But we already have some great rare items for the June Major Auction (we will very soon start posting images of some of these in our Weekly Email Club and on our Facebook page), and NOW is the time for all of you with items to send to do so.

Why send them now, when the deadline for consigning to this auction isn't until six weeks from now (Friday June 12th)? Consignors have two great advantages to sending your items early. We always take the first of each item we receive, so by sending early, you have a much better chance of it being your example of an item that is guaranteed to be in the auction. And we use those early consignments for our early advertising, so you get that advantage as well.

Why consign to us rather than other auctions? Partly it is because we charge MUCH lower selling commissions (at every price level), part is because we get higher results overall (when you compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges, even accepting other auctions "reported" auction results as real), and part is because we are known to be 100% honest and trustworthy (and we have NEVER been involved in a lawsuit of any kind, and simple research on the Internet, or talking to others, will quickly show just how many such "problems" other auctions have). We have had 1,977 consignors, and we get lots more consignors every major auction (many of whom tell us how much happier they are dealing with us than with other auctions).

And as far as auction results go, one has to take the reported "results" from other auctions with a BIG "grain of salt", when so many of the items that seemed to do well return to their auctions over and over, most often progressively "selling" for less and less. In our auctions, the items REALLY sell, at the listed prices, and in the tiny number of cases where they don't, we cancel the sale and remove it from our database (so every result there is 100% guaranteed to be real).

And you don't have to take our word for any of the above! Ask around the hobby, and you will soon find out why so many more collectors and dealers consign to us, rather than any other auction. In December 2016, when one of the most major and respected French dealers, Dominique Besson, was looking to sell his wonderful collection of U.S. one-sheets, he consigned it to us, rather than any other auction (and rather than selling or auctioning it himself). And the same is true of many of the other most respected dealers and collectors the world over.

What consignments do we want for this June Major Auction? Any items that we are sent that are linenbacked or paperbacked will automatically go into this auction. On unbacked items, we want the kind of items that are both rare and desirable, meaning that they are from titles many collectors seek, have a very appealing image, and are in at least pretty nice condition, and have a value in the hundreds (at least)! Of course items that combine ALL of these qualities ARE super rare, so we might accept items that are lacking in one area, if they make up for it in others!

If you have items that you think MIGHT make sense for this June Major Auction, why not contact us today? We will tell you whether we think that they will do better in our Major Auction or in our "regular" weekly auctions (and remember that we want what you want, which is for your items to sell for the most money possible, and we will advise you to put them in the auction where that is most likely to happen). Remember too, that ALL of the items we auction are consigned to us (unlike many auctions where large numbers are owned by the auction itself). That means there is no "conflict of interest" with us, and guarantees we treat all consignors equally well.
