eMoviePoster.com - The most trusted vintage original movie poster site & the only major online auction with no buyers premiums!
Did You Know... that we offer full refunds, including return shipping, whenever we make a mistake in a listing, even many years later?
Return to Did You Know ArchiveAdded: 04/25/2016 Many of you may know this, but for anyone who doesn't, please know that whenever we find ANY error in one of our past sales (no matter how many years ago it was!) we email the new
information to the buyer of that item, and then, if it made the item worse (like that we thought it was original, but it was a re-release) we offer to
take the item back for a full refund, including return shipping, something NO other auction in the entire world does!
Yes, this has cost us thousands of dollars over the years, but that is a drop in the bucket compared to our 60 million dollars in sales, and it both
gives us incentive to be super accurate, and it also gives our buyers a complete feeling of confidence they get with NO other auction.
Here is an email we just received from someone we emailed about a mistake on a British Quad Fox and the Hound poster we sold him 2 years ago (we
thought it was from the 1981 first release, but we discovered it was from a 1980s re-release).
He wrote:
"Thank you for your continued effort at providing the BEST possible experience when dealing with everyone at
eMoviePoster.com. Your company is my number one source for movie posters, and this is one of the reasons for it.
As far as the FOX & THE HOUND Quad is concerned...NO...I am happy with my purchase and will not be returning it.
At some point I knew it wasn't a 1981 release but was still glad to add it to my collection.
In my file I have it listed as a 1988 re-release. While no 1988 re-release is listed for the United Kingdom, IMDB.com does list a re-release in
Ireland on April 1, 1988. So I'm thinking that's probably the best fit until more information comes along.
Over the past few years I have been researching Disney animation releases, from around the globe, trying to come up with one file that accurately
represents release dates.
Several times I have emailed your company suggesting changes to poster dates (with justification) and have always been treated as a knowledgeable
collector. While I do not consider myself an expert I have done some digging and come up with a number of best guesses.
Anything I can do to help insure the accuracy of your historical information will help everyone in this community."
Here is another email we received, from a fellow we sold a different poster to (for $147.50, NINE years ago!)
and where we also discovered it is from an unmarked re-release:
"Well
this is a surprise email to be sure. I've never seen a company take this kind of responsibility and I do appreciate it very much. In the end we are not talking a tremendous amount of value difference between what I paid and the value of the
poster now. It seems like more trouble than its worth to send it back. I'll go ahead and keep it, knowing that it is from the re-release.
Thanks again for reaching out. You guys are a stand up outfit. I'm not currently acquiring, but when I do again, I'll feel confident buying from you
guys."
And here is one last one, from a fellow who bought the 1979 poster titled "Teenage Dracula" which we recently found
out is from a re-release of the 1971 movie "Dracula vs Frankenstein":
"Thanks for the update! I will keep it; the added knowledge makes it even more interesting. You are indeed a most
amazing auction house."
Of course we thanked all three of these collectors for their being understanding of our honest errors!
