On those rare occasions where we are contacted by a bidder who believes something we are offering is not original, we immediately re-examine the poster and do research (by contacting other poster experts and, when possible, by comparing that poster to another we have on hand). If we determine it is possibly a reproduction, we cancel the auction and notify the bidders that it was canceled (or if we discovered it was a reproduction after the auction - even years after the auction - we will contact the buyer and offer to take it back for a full refund). You may be thinking, "but I see that you auctioned reproduction stills, commercial posters, etc". We only do this in certain, special circumstances and then, only with full disclosure of exactly what those items are and when and by who they were created (if we can discover that). For example, we auctioned many hundreds of reproduction 8" x 10" stills ONLY because they were personally signed by the star pictured (the signatures themselves were authentic, and only the stills were reproductions). In this circumstance it makes sense to auction these "reproductions". We've also auctioned S2 re-creations which are licensed reproductions made from the original printing plates, but those are printed on different paper made to be sold to the collector's market in the own right and are clearly described as to what they are.
