Did you know... that ALL consignment packages MUST realistically contain at least $200 of material, and ALL items in each package that realistically figure to sell for under $20 each will be ONLY auctioned in bulk lots?

Why this "new rule"? It is NOT "new"! The above has always been what we asked of ALL consignors, but we often "let it slide", when a package only contained, say, 10 items that realistically retail for a few dollars each. BUT THINK ABOUT IT FROM OUR PERSPECTIVE! Such consignments need to be processed, entered, photographed, auctioned, invoiced, packed and shipped, and by the time we do all that, we don't come close to breaking even.

But more importantly, we spend so much time on these low value consignments that we have trouble keeping up with $20+ ones. And these items (which the consignor did not want) are usually items NO ONE wants (because "one man's trash" is most often NOT "another man's treasure", as the old saying goes). Instead "one man's trash" is most often "EVERYONE'S trash", so those items sell for next-to-nothing, and they are a huge waste of time.

One of the biggest reasons we switched to "every four week" auctions is to let us COMPLETELY stop auctioning sub-$20 items as single auctions, and ONLY have them as bulk lots.  And we also used to let consignors slide when they sent just a package with say, $50 in total value, even though we have had a posted minimum of $200 per package for years.

This makes sense all around! As we said, low value items yield very little to the consignor, and waste a lot of our precious time. And this past year we have proven that by taking this kind of stuff out of single sale auctions we have upped prices on what's left. And ever since many of the bulk lots have since had $10 to $20 items added to them, they have been going for more and more, which is better for both consignors AND buyers!

And you might ask how do you know what is a $20+ item? A great start is by looking at our auction history at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/archive.html. But please remember that "$20+" doesn't mean "has ever sold over $20"! You want to sort the results by "Most Recent First", so you see what your items have sold for RECENTLY!

SO, HERE IS A SUMMARY OF WHAT IS ABOVE: With far fewer auctions, we no longer have the time to auction low value items individually. So effective immediately, ABSOLUTELY all items we are consigned that realistically sell for under $20 each will be placed in bulk lots (or returned to consignors). And each bulk lot itself also has to realistically sell for $20 each.
So if someone consigns ten $2 to $5 items to us, we will make a single bulk lot out of them, even if they are all completely different kinds of items. And if they send twenty $5 to $10 items, we would at most make them into five bulk lots, but more likely just one or two.  But of course we will also offer to return the items to that person. BUT ABSOLUTELY ALL ITEMS THAT ARE SENT TO US THAT REALISTICALLY SELL FOR $20 OR MORE WILL CONTINUE TO BE AUCTIONED INDIVIDUALLY!

But please remember that we absolutely WON'T be stopping auctioning low priced items! It is just that we will be auctioning them ONLY in bulk lots, and NOT in single item auctions. And since I am hoping that by continuing to do at least 1,000 bulk lots every other month, we can also actually auction more sub-$20 items a year than we did when we had bi-weekly or weekly auctions, except they will be in bulk lots.
