eMoviePoster.comDid You Know... that you can get the exact same mailing tubes we use?Return to Did You Know Archive Added: 09/07/2015 We are often asked where we get the "gorilla proof" heavy duty shipping tubes we use, and whether our customers can order them for themselves. The answers are that we get them custom-made from Yazoo Mills: http://www.yazoomills.com/, but because we received so many requests to get the same quality, Yazoo Mills now offers the very same tubes to everyone! You simply ask them for the same custom tubes we order (when you call them, request "the same custom tubes eMoviePoster.com gets"). If you want them for one-sheets, then you will want the 3" by 30" tubes for unbacked one-sheets. If you feel comfortable with lots of unbacked posters into a single tube (or if you are using them to send linenbacked posters), then instead, ask for the 4" x 30" tubes. Want to send lots of linenbacked posters? Then you might consider 6" by 30" and 8" by 30" tubes. And of course, you can get them in many other lengths other than 30 inches, if you are sending other size posters. The key is to get the exact same "wall thickness" we get (which is .150 inches thick for the 3" and 4" tubes, and .250 inches for the 6" and 8" tubes) because then your tubes will also be "gorilla proof"! And of course, when you pack your posters, always be sure there is zero room inside for the posters to "shift around". That's how creases happen. Even a quarter inch of space at either end of the tube can cause problems. Use packing peanuts or bubble-wrap to fill those ends, and it is wise to wrap the posters in paper or plastic first. Want more details on the above, or have other questions? We also have a "Packing Guide" you may wish to refer to here: http://www.emovieposter.com/learnmore/?page=consign_packguide Know that we don't mind if any of our competitors steal our "secrets" and start using the same tubes or copying us in how we pack, etc. It would mean far fewer damaged posters, and we are in favor of ANYTHING that will have that result, because it is SUCH a shame when a poster survives 50 or 100 years in nice condition, and then it is damaged due to poor packing.
