As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES!

So below is the pressbook from Bachelor Bait, the 1934 George Stevens romantic slapstick comedy ("Hello, Sucker! Pick yourself a bride, from the world's largest, and goofiest, matrimonial bureau!") starring Stuart Erwin, Rochelle Hudson, Pert Kelton, Richard "Skeets" Gallagher, and Berton Churchill. Note that director George Stevens spent years in Hollywood directing comedy shorts (from 1930 to 1935), and he directed 30 of them in that time. In 1935, he got his big break directing Katharine Hepburn in "Alice Adams", and his career quickly took off, and he made many extremely memorable Hollywood movies, including "Gunga Din", "Swing Time", "The More the Merrier", "A Place in the Sun", and of course, "Shane" and "Giant"!
