eMoviePoster.comCool Item Of the Week: They Died With Their Boots On pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 11/18/2013 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from They Died With Their Boots On, the classic 1941 Raoul Walsh military cowboy western biography (a VERY fictionalized account of the life of General Custer and his death at the Little Big Horn; "Warner Bros. glorious story of America's gallant 7th Cavalry!"; "The most exciting adventure ever screened."; "Action!"; "Defiant Defenders of America's First Frontier... the Gallant 7th Regiment!"; "In their biggest hit together!"; "Thundering at you out of history's heart!"; "Scene after scene of the most exciting adventure ever screened!") starring Errol Flynn (as General George Armstrong Custer), Olivia De Havilland, Arthur Kennedy, Charley Grapewin, Gene Lockhart, Anthony Quinn, John Litel, Sydney Greenstreet, Regis Toomey, and Hattie McDaniel. Here is an image of the covers and two interior pages: Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 20,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!). And remember to check out our previous Cool Items of the Week in our Cool Item of the Week archive (which is now fully searchable!).
