eMoviePoster.comCool Item Of the Week: Smash-Up pressbookReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 05/13/2013 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from Smash-Up: The Story of a Woman (released outside the U.S. as "A Woman Destroyed"), the 1946 Stuart Heisler melodrama ("Possessed! ...by her love for the man in her heart! ...by a craving his love could not master!"; "Torn by cravings she could not control!"; "Taunted by questions that had no answer!"; "Tortured by a nightmare that had no end!"; "Tormented by secrets she dared not share!"; "How lonely must a woman be before she does what 'Angel' did?") starring Susan Hayward (in her nominated for Best Actress Academy Award role), Lee Bowman, Marsha Hunt, Eddie Albert, Carl Esmond, Carleton Young, and Charles D. Brown. Here is an image of the front cover and back cover poster page: Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 20,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!). And remember to check out our previous Cool Items of the Week in our Cool Item of the Week archive (which is now fully searchable!).
