Cool Item Of the Week: After Tonight pressbook coversReturn to Cool Item of the Month Archive Added: 06/13/2011 As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES! This week, I have the pressbook from "After Tonight", the 1933 George Archainbaud Austria romantic spy melodrama starring Constance Bennett, Gilbert Roland, Edward Ellis, and Mischa Auer. Note that this movie was one of the last "pre-Code" movies, and it had especially racy love scenes. They must have progressed beyond the screen, because after the movie was made Constance Bennett and Gilbert Roland were married! movie had a completely different image for every single "artistic" stone litho
poster, and that the pressbook had a cover image that was similar to that of the
one-sheet! Each week I will showcase a different pressbook (or related item) from my collection (so in just 25,000 weeks or so, I will have shared the entire collection with you!).
