As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you this week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES!

This week, I have the pressbook from Hats Off the 1936 Boris Petroff Texas romantic press agent musical (written by Samuel Fuller; a wacky story of two Texas cities wanting to run expositions to bring visitors to their cities, and they hire publicists who are male and female to promote their separate events; naturally, they steal each other's ideas and use all kinds of unscrupulous tactics, and even more naturally, they end up falling in love!) starring Mae Clarke, John Payne, Helen Lynd, Luis Alberni, Skeets Gallagher, Franklyn Pangborn, Three Radio Rogues, and "200 Gorgeous Girls". Note that this was the very first screenplay by Sam Fuller, who was only 24! Of course, he would later become famous for tough action thrillers and war melodramas, but this movie was surprisingly a lighthearted romantic comedy!
