As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES!

So below is the pressbook from When Worlds Collide, the classic 1951 Rudolph Mate science fiction (sci-fi) doomsday fantasy thriller ("Spectacle never before filmed!"; "Most amazing story that science or fiction ever imagined!"; "Planets Destroy Earth!"; "Giant planet collides with earth!"; "Enormous earthquakes swallow whole continents!"; "Tidal waves flood entire countries!"; "Space ship leaves earth!"; "Based on the famous novel by Edwin Balmer and Philip Wylie"; produced by George Pal, who did the excellent special effects; a highly literate screenplay by Sydney Boehm; this is the sort of movie that proved that science fiction movies did not have to be silly to be critically acclaimed or popular with the public; it is a pity more movies did not follow this wonderful movie's formula!) starring Barbara Rush, Richard Derr, Peter Hanson, John Hoyt, Larry Keating, Frank Cady, and Stephen Chase.
