As many of you know, I, Bruce Hershenson, owner of eMoviePoster.com, have collected pressbooks (and related movie paper like studio yearbooks) for over 30 years, and I have the world's foremost collection of such material. I thought I would share one item with you each week, the type of items you almost surely have never seen before, and which might not come up for sale for DECADES!

So below is the pressbook from Howard Hughes' Jet Pilot, the 1957 Josef von Sternberg Cold War airplane aviation military fighter pilot melodrama ("Earth-shaking, sky-shattering!"; "Exploding with all the power of the Jet-Age... With all the passion of a daring love story!"; "She made him forget he was a soldier! He made her remember she was a woman!"; "The greatest air spectacle of the Jet Age"; "Jet-Flame action! Jet-Hot thrills!"; "Greatest air spectacle of the Jet Age!"; "Earth-shaking, sky-shattering!... SO BIG it took years to make!"; "THE ROAR OF JETS! Those Screaming Eagles are on the job in the greatest air spectacle of the jet age!"; "No man can pay the price for what this woman offers!"; "ONLY THE SKY was big enough to hold the sweep and power of this epic-making picture!"; "Written and Produced by Jules Furthman"; produced by Howard Hughes) starring John Wayne, Janet Leigh (very young and sexy!), "The U.S. Air Force", Jay C. Flippen, Paul Fix, Hans Conried, Janet Leigh, John Bishop, and Roland Winters. Note that RKO had ceased to exist at the time this movie was released, and that Universal probably re-used old printing plates, and put their logo at the bottom, covering over the old one which explains why materials on this movie have both studios printed on them!
