Details About These Items

Why does this special auction include BOTH vintage scripts AND vintage negatives, transparencies, and 35mm slides
Instead of doing a special auction of SOLELY vintage scripts and ANOTHER special auction of SOLELY negatives, transparencies, and 35mm slides and we realized it made far more sense to run both these special auctions at the same time, with the vintage scripts running first, and the negatives, transparencies, and 35mm slides running right after them, this combining the two into this one extra special auction!

About the part of the auction containing 163 vintage scripts
All of the 163 scripts we are offering were created by studios. Most were used during the filming of a movie or TV show, and some were created after the production was finished. None of the scripts are "copy scripts", the kind sold by shops on Hollywood Blvd., which are copied from vintage scripts. Many of the scripts we are auctioning come from a specific actor or crew member, and we always identify this on the specific auction.

About the part of the auction containing 215 vintage negatives, 115 vintage transparencies, and 30 vintage sets of 35mm slides
This is a very special auction of  extremely rare vintage negatives and transparencies of various sizes and 35mm slides (some contain single items, and many contain multiples, some with high quantities).
EVERY single item in this auction is either a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture) OR it is "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets),. Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "camera originals" or "studio issue" (and a HIGH percentage of the negatives are" camera originals"). We have divided them by type and size.

Also note that every one of the 215 auctions of negatives have had the negatives scanned expertly to create a positive image. Each of those auctions show an image of the negative as it actually appears and ALSO an image of a positive image of the negative(s) in that auction. BUT REALIZE THE WINNING BIDDER OF THOSE AUCTIONS WILL RECEIVE ONE OR MORE PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVES (in some cases, the studio or our consignor also made a positive print of the negative(s), and the auctions with those are clearly noted).

In the case of transparencies, almost all of them were scanned individually, and we only also photographed them if there was a sticker or snipe on their sleeve. In the case of 35mm slides, almost all of them were photographed on a light box, and we scanned just one (or a small number) of those slides (and that is clearly identified on those auctions), so you can see just how high quality those slides are!

All of the positive images on these auctions have an "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in the auction they won, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make positive prints of the items they purchased (by giving that scan to a printer, or creating it from the unwatermarked scan on their own computer). In the case of the 35mm slides, only one or a few were scanned individually (as noted above).  The winners of those auctions can, upon request, have whatever unwatermarked images we have (if they were scanned, we will send unwatermarked scans (of course, only if they were scanned), and if they were photographed, we will send unwatermarked photographs, and if there is a combination of scans and photographs, we will send what we took).

PLEASE REALIZE THAT NONE OF THESE ARE PHOTOS, AND ALL ARE PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVES, TRANSPARENCIES, OR SLIDES (although a very few have positive prints included, which is clearly noted), SO ONLY BID ON THEM IF WHAT YOU ARE WANTING TO BUY IS THE PHOTOGRAPHIC NEGATIVES, TRANSPARENCIES, OR SLIDES BEING AUCTIONED! But please also realize that most of these are many, many times more scarce than vintage photos that were made from them, and in the case of the many "camera originals", THEY ARE TRULY "ONE-OF-A-KIND"!

About the condition of these items
We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are "good" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

An important message to all of our buyers about how quickly we can send orders (be sure to read this):

In our three current sets of auctions we will have had MANY THOUSANDS of auctions end, and they include every size and type of poster and all sorts of related items, and include LOTS of expensive ones. There is NO WAY we can pack and ship everything in just a few days, and in fact it will take us a total of three weeks (give or take) to get every single item packed and quoted to the buyers. So PLEASE be understanding of this! We WILL be packing hundreds of orders each day after the auctions close, and it is the "luck of the draw" as to whether your order is packed early on or near the end. But you can "JUMP TO THE TOP OF THE STACK" by paying a $15 RUSH FEE, so please request this in our checkout if you really want your quotes (and your package) sent to you VERY quickly. We know everyone wants their order sent ASAP, but we also know everyone wants them packed very carefully and safely, so thanks for realizing this.

Another important message to all of our buyers about shipping methods (be sure to read this):

As we are sure you are well aware, the service from the Post Office within the U.S. has gone from bad to worse to downright awful over the past year, and that has now caused us to make UPS our default shipper for all domestic packages sent within the U.S (we explain this in full at the following link: Did you know... that the Post Office's record on delivery, damage, and payment on claims has gone SO far downhill that we are now making UPS our default shipper for all domestic packages sent within the U.S?.

We have analyzed the performance of the Post Office and UPS (United Parcel Service) within the U.S. and we find that UPS does so much of a better job that we want all our customers to use it, because:
1) UPS has NOT been leaving packages (WITH Signature Confirmation paid for) on the recipient's porch as the Post Office has.
2) While we have had a very few UPS packages damaged, it is a tiny percentage of the amount of that of the Post Office (both degree of damage, and number of claims).
3) UPS DOES pay insurance claims, both for damage and loss, and in a timely fashion. In the most extreme case yet, we had a $11,500 tube vanish, and they paid the insurance in full, 3 weeks after it went missing.
4) While UPS's tracking is far from perfect, it is light years ahead of the Post Office. Packages tend to not update in their tracking for a day or two at the worst, compared to the Post Office's weeks or months.
5) We have a dedicated UPS representative, who DOES return our phone calls and emails, and HAS (over and over) gotten problems resolved (and often quickly)

WHAT DOES ALL THIS ADD UP TO? Effective October 27th, we will advise all our domestic customers (those receiving orders WITHIN the U.S.) to only use UPS, and NOT the Post Office, EXCEPT in the following situations:
1) If your package is both very light (under 4 pounds) and not very expensive, it will be enough cheaper by Post Office that we will offer our customers a Post Office option
2) If your only shipping address is a Post Office box, we will offer our customers a Post Office option, because UPS won't deliver to Post Office boxes
3) UPDATED: If your package is going to a country other than the U.S. we are now convinced the Post Office is a better option than UPS for MOST international orders. WHY? Because sadly, while UPS does a better job delivering international orders, they OFTEN add on customs fees that the Post Office does NOT charge (at least for now)., SO STARTING IMMEDIATELY, we will ONLY offer our international customers a Post Office option, but NOT a UPS option, unless the customer specifically requests it and accepts that they MAY need to pay high customs fees (that we will have no responsibility for).

This is all part of our desire to get our packages and tubes sent via the fastest, safest and fully insured method, and after long experience, we feel certain that within the United States, UPS offers this the best, and that switching almost exclusively to them within the U.S. will result in fewer damaged packages, faster deliveries, and full insurance payments o losses!

AND REMEMBER THAT AS OF NOW, JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING IS STILL GETTING TO ITS DESTINATION, SO LET'S BE THANKFUL FOR THAT!

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order plus $4 per tube or box, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen (you can choose either the U.S. Post Office or UPS (since you are paying it, you can choose the method you prefer). All U.S. orders will be sent fully insured.

Our Pay and Hold Program (see below for how this works) allows you to have your purchases sent every SIXTEEN weeks, which means we will only send you packages around three times a year, but you MUST pay for your purchases every two weeks, even though they may not be shipped for 16 weeks. We urge all of our customers to join the Pay and Hold Program, because it really saves you a massive amount on shipping!

Missouri, California, Washington, and Illinois customers: If your order is sent within these states, we MUST collect sales tax, and we will do so automatically (unless you have a Reseller Certificate from your state in which case you need to reply to this email with a copy of that Certificate, so you can be exempted from the sales tax).

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 16 consecutive weeks (a total of 12 auctions and around 16,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

Do you need "signature required"?
Neither UPS nor USPS automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $5.00 for UPS or $2.60 for USPS that they charge for "signature required", and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package at the door, and you may well have to go to the UPS or USPS facility yourself to pick it up if you aren't there to meet the delivery person. If you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED (unless your package has a dollar value over $100, in which case we will ALWAYS send it with signature required, due to the massive rise in "porch thefts", unless you specifically tell us not to, and you will need to fully accept responsibility for the package if it is stolen from your porch or lobby)!

You CAN usually combine shipment!

NOTE: These items need to be sent in flat packages so...

*they can be combined with these auctions:

Tuesday March 14th items that ship in flat packages
Sunday March 19th most of the bulk lots that ship in flat packages
Tuesday April 11th items that ship in flat packages
Sunday April 16th items that ship in flat packages
Tuesday May 9th items that ship in flat packages
Sunday May 14th most of the bulk lots that ship in flat packages
Tuesday June 6th items that ship in flat packages

*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:

Thursday March 16th items that ship rolled in tubes
Sunday March 19th bulk lots that ship rolled in tubes
Thursday April 13th items that ship rolled in tubes
Sunday April 16th items that ship rolled in tubes
Thursday May 11th items that ship rolled in tubes
Sunday May 14th bulk lots that ship rolled in tubes
Thursday June 8th items that ship rolled in tubes

Note that (if you join our Pay and Hold Program) we allow you to wait to have your purchases shipped until a total of twelve auctions have ended so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible; see Learn More About Combining), and that means there is a chance you could combine all those items, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package, but of course, there is a limit to how many items can fit in a single package or tube, and if you end up with several packages, you will need to pay that many shipping charges; Learn More About Combining). Since around half of our auctions have items that ship in tubes and the other half have items that ship in flat packages, and since few of those two types of items can be combined, most of our regular buyers end up with at least two packages after sixteen weeks. We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do (and of course, there are others who charge far more!), but none of the ones with lower rates offer the same generous combined shipping we do, and we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $4 per tube or box for packaging materials)!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $4 per tube or box, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen and a separate printed invoice mailed to you. All non-U.S. buyers must have their packages fully insured, UNLESS they expressly state they accept fully responsibility if their order is lost or damaged.

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 16 consecutive weeks (a total of 12 auctions and around 16,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

Learn more about how to save money on shipping by shipping to friends/family in the U.S., insurance, and customs fees.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, or marked as "gift", or marked with a low value, but we can not do this. We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States?
Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING (but bear in mind that, depending on the state, we might have to then charge U.S. sales tax)! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $4 per tube or box for packaging materials)!
