About These Thursday Items
About the 435 "very oversized" or "oversized" rolled items
The 435 items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions include a large collection of 30x40s and 40x60s, plus many other posters of all
kinds (movie and non-movie posters), all of which are of similar sizes to 30x40s or 40x60s. They either need to be shipped in tubes around 32"
long, or in MUCH longer tubes (up to around 62"). WHILE IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THESE POSTERS CAN BE COMBINED
WITH OTHER RECENT AUCTIONS OF "ROLLED" POSTERS, THERE ARE ALSO MANY CASES WHERE THEY CAN NOT BE COMBINED. The main reason for this would be if
you buy "regular sized" posters and a small number of the very oversized ones. If they were combined, the very oversized one would surely
become damaged, so in that case, it would need to go in its own tube, and please bear this in mind before bidding on these very oversized posters.
There are many items you may well not see again for sale or auction for many years
to come, and there is an amazing variety of all sorts of items, covering all years, sizes, and genres, so be sure to look through all of these
items (in addition to looking at the chart below). If you miss some of these items, you may never again get a chance at them! However, please bear
in mind that many of these items have some condition issues. All can be restored, but bear that added expense in mind before placing a bid. Of
course, you might prefer to wait for a better example of that item to come along, but some of these items only come along once every decade or
two, so it could be a very long wait!
HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:
(to better help you find the sizes and countries that interest you)
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHIP IN OVERSIZED TUBES FOR THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (and they may or may not be combine-able with the "regular" sized
posters elsewhere in this auction):
7k001 SHAPE OF WATER special anatomy poster
7k151-7k195 paper banner, door panel, music, subway, bus stop, video, commercial, special
7k196-7k225 large non-U.S. posters including many Swiss
7k226-7k430 forty by sixties
7k431-7k435 vinyl banners (NOTE: These can NOT be combined with any non-vinyl posters!)
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SHIP IN STANDARD SIZE TUBES FOR THE $12 U.S. SHIPPING:
7k002-7k012 oversized & trimmed one-sheet, half subways
7k013-7k150 thirty by forties
About the shipping of the current 435 "very oversized" or "oversized" rolled items
All of the items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions are "very oversized" or "oversized", meaning that
they can't be sent in our tubes
that measure 30" or shorter. This means that, this week only, we
will combine shipments of items that are safe to combine (but if you win items of different types that ship in more than one package, you will be
charged for more than one package), and remember that if you win items marked as
"actual cost of shipping", then you will be charged the actual cost of shipping instead of the flat rate shipping.
It should be
pretty simple to tell which items can ship for the flat rate and which ship for the actual cost of shipping (it is noted on each individual auction page and in the chart above). Either
way, you may have to pay
a greater
amount for shipping than normal (especially if you live outside the U.S.). Because we are selling many different sizes of items (many "oversized"), our shipping estimate charts below for non-U.S. buyers
are only of limited use (and the actual cost can vary drastically from the
chart, so PLEASE do not think that you can rely on them!), due to the wide variance of the size of packages, so if knowing the actual shipping cost is important to you before
you bid, please
contact
us with the item or items, along with where you live.
About the condition We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are
"good" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the
still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

U.S. Shipping Details
THIS WEEK ONLY, some items ship for the actual cost of sending your order, plus $3 for the packaging materials while others qualify for our flat rate $12 U.S. shipping
(refer to the individual auctions and the chart above to know which). After winning,
you need to request a shipping quote through our
Checkout
system.
Learn the exact
details of flat rate shipping
Why don't we have a "flat rate" for some U.S. orders this
week, like we do most weeks (except as noted in the chart above)? Because, along with special posters, we are selling "very
oversized" or "oversized" posters of all shapes and sizes, some of which must be sent in our custom-made extra heavy duty gorilla proof mailing
tubes, shipping will vary greatly depending on how
many items you get, what the weight of the posters are, if
they fit in the same tube, and where you live. Generally it will cost
$35 at the very least to send an oversized tube package anywhere in the U.S. by either U.S.
mail or UPS, fully insured (all U.S. orders MUST be fully insured).
Can we send your order in a less expensive way? We have
purchased movie paper items many hundreds of times over the Internet
ourselves, and we have seen the tubes and oversized flat packages that other
sellers use (both the free kind and the kind purchased at shipping supply
stores), and the protection offered by those tubes is spotty at best (those
cheaper tubes will often get bent resulting in creasing or tearing to the
poster, or in extreme cases, a tube can even lose a cap from an end
resulting in the buyer receiving a tube but no posters!), so please do not
ask us to use a lighter weight tube or less expensive packing materials to save on
shipping, because we won't do it! We know that once you see our tubes
you will agree that they are a great investment in protecting your purchase(s) and you will wonder why other sellers of vintage movie paper do
not use these same tubes and oversized flat packages
(and if somehow you don't agree with us, we ask you
not to bid at all!).
Do you need "signature required"?
Neither
UPS nor USPS automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the
signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $4.25 for UPS or $2.45 for USPS that
they charge for "signature required", and please realize that they will then NOT leave
the package at the door, and you may well have to go to the UPS or USPS facility yourself to
pick it up if you aren't there to meet the delivery person. If you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for
your order. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE
SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED (unless your package has a dollar value over $300, in which case we will ALWAYS send it
with signature required, due to the massive rise in "porch thefts", unless you specifically tell us not to, and you will need to fully accept responsibility for the package if it is stolen from your porch or
lobby)!
You CAN usually combine shipment!
NOTE: These Thursday
items need to be sent either rolled in standard tubes OR rolled in oversized tubes so...
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT COMBINING: Flat rate shipping is good for 3 weeks worth of
purchases (assuming all the items fit into a single package;
Learn More
About Combining). If you win items over a span of more than 21 days, you will then be
charged the actual cost of shipping plus $3 for packing materials.
*Most "rolled" items can be combined with these auctions and we will
combine them automatically if there is no chance of damage to any of them items you
win:
Sunday June 3rd bulk lots (NOTE: Some CAN be safely combined, and we will automatically combine if safe to do.)
Tuesday June 5th rolled non-U.S. posters
Thursday June 7th inserts and half-sheets
Tuesday June 19th rolled non-U.S. posters
Thursday June 21st rolled one-sheets & special posters
*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:
Sunday May 27th signed items that all ship in flat packages
Tuesday May 29th large French & Italian, WCs, pbs, Mex LCs, and more
Thursday May 31st complete & incomplete lobby card sets
Sunday June 10th negatives and transparencies
Tuesday June 12th folded one-sheets
Thursday June 14th single lobby cards
Sunday June 17th groups of 2 or more 8x10 stills
Sunday June 24th single 8x10 stills
Tuesday June 26th Australian daybills
|
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of
Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all
of the items (even if you get 100 or more, but solely from a single set!), but we also allow
you to wait until the next three weeks of auctions end (a total of up to nine sets of auctions)
so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if
possible; see
Learn More
About Combining), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to
nine of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items
fit into the same type of package, but of course, there is a limit to how many items can fit in
a single package or tube, and if you end up with several packages, you will need to pay that
many shipping charges;
Learn More About Combining). Since around half of our auctions have items that ship in
tubes and the other half have items that ship in flat packages, and since few of those items can
be combined, most of our regular buyers end up with at least two packages after three weeks. We
KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do (and of
course, there are others who charge far more!), but none of the ones with lower rates offer the
same generous flat rate shipping we do, and we know that our packaging is the best there is, and
our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S.
packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).
AS STATED IN THE CHART ABOVE, DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS
UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE COST OF U.S. SHIPPING
PLUS $3 FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (and on a week like this, when we use very large tubes, the $3 usually does not come close to covering the cost of those materials).
OF COURSE, LOTS 7k002 TO 7k150
CAN BE SHIPPED FOR $12 WITHIN THE U.S. IF YOU SOLELY WIN THOSE. MANY OF THE ITEMS WE ARE
CURRENTLY AUCTIONING WILL COST A HIGH AMOUNT TO SEND, SO BEAR THIS ADDED COST IN MIND BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THOSE ITEMS!
|
Non-U.S. Shipping Details
Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer), plus
$3 for packaging materials. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.
KNOW THAT IT IS USUALLY MORE EXPENSIVE (SOMETIMES MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE) TO
SEND THESE OVERSIZED ITEMS OUTSIDE THE U.S., AND THE BELOW CHARTS ARE ONLY A
VERY ROUGH GUIDE TO THE ACTUAL COSTS. We do not make a penny on
the shipping (because we charge the actual cost), BUT PLEASE BEAR IN MIND
THE SUBSTANTIAL ADDED SHIPPING COSTS BEFORE YOU PLACE A BID ON THESE ITEMS!
Have you heard about our Pay and Hold
Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 6 consecutive weeks
(a total of 18 auctions and around 15,000+ items!), and we then send all your
purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click
HERE to learn more
about becoming one of the hundreds of our non-U.S. buyers who are already
part of this program.

more about how to save money on shipping by shipping to friends/family
in the U.S., insurance, and customs fees.
Here is a chart
containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items (of LOTS 5z227 TO 5z999) from this set of
auctions. NOTE: These are ESTIMATES only; actual shipping may cost more
or less.
THESE ESTIMATES ARE SOLELY FOR LOTS 7k002 TO 7k150 . LARGER ROLLED ITEMS CAN COST SUBSTANTIALLY MORE TO
SHIP (those items are noted in the chart above and on the actual auctions), IN MANY CASES $100 TO $200 PER PACKAGE, SO PLEASE DO NOT BID ON THOSE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY THE
HIGHER ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING!
ALSO NOTE: Insurance will increase the cost of shipping by approximately $1.60 for each
$100 of insurance. |

Also, the maximum number of posters that can ship via First Class in a tube is eight (8), but bear in mind that is at the maximum
weight of 4 lbs which will cost more than the estimates above (the cost to ship 8 posters via First Class is approximately $50, depending on
where you live). |
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these
approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if
you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very
securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of
course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask
us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large
"brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also
some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course
this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the
possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that
carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
AS STATED IN THE CHART ABOVE, DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS
UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE COST OF SHIPPING
PLUS $3 FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (and on a week like this, when we use very large tubes, the $3 usually does not come close to covering the cost of those materials). MANY OF THE ITEMS WE ARE
CURRENTLY AUCTIONING WILL COST A HIGH AMOUNT TO SEND, SO BEAR THIS ADDED COST IN MIND BEFORE PLACING A BID ON THOSE ITEMS!
