Details About These Sunday Items

IMPORTANT! This set of auctions runs for TWO weeks!
This set of auctions began on May 20th and it will last for TWO weeks, ending on June 3rd.
As those auctions end on June 3rd, we will start an "all miscellaneous" auction that includes the small amounts of items we used to auction in our "regular" Sunday auctions, plus any other items that don't fit into our regular Tuesday and Thursday auctions, and those auctions will also last for TWO weeks, ending on June 17th!
Then every two Sundays we will alternate between the "miscellaneous" auction and the rolled one-sheet auction, each running for two weeks. This means we will be able to auction rolled 27x41 and 27x40 one-sheets every month (and on a regular schedule, and it also means we should be able to auction "miscellaneous" items soon after we receive them because we will have a large auction of them every month).
And of course, if either or both of these auctions are well received, we could start running either for one week only and have TWO sets of either every month!

A special note about the German and Austrian programs contained in this auction
Over the past few years, we have offered collections of German and Austrian programs, where we THOUGHT they were some of the best collections imaginable, because the collectors who put them together were trying to get as many of the highlights of German cinema (and the world's cinema) from all years.
We THOUGHT that we would never get another collection like those, but now we have been consigned one that FAR SURPASSES our previous offerings! Not only does the current collection contain hundreds more, but it has higher numbers of the really rare ones, plus it has an incredible collection of Leni Riefenstahl items that not only includes programs, but also incredibly rare German lobby cards, German stills, and even a deluxe presskit from OLYMPIAD!
Note that some of the programs we are auctioning are from Germany, some are from Austria, and a smaller number are from East Germany. Germany and Austria were completely separate until Hitler annexed Austria, and they were again separate right after World War II. There are differences between the programs from the two countries, most notably the sizes, and we clearly identify which of the two countries each program is from. Of course, East Germany became its own country after World War II, and at first they did not show "western movies", but starting in the 1950s they did, and this collection includes a nice selection of those programs as well.
Also note that there were two entirely different major companies that made programs in Germany (and there were a few smaller companies over the years). Both of these companies made programs right when the movies first came out, and the programs from the same movies usually look entirely different from each other. In a few cases, we have two programs from the same movie that are from the different companies, and both are first release.
This is certainly the finest collection of these programs I have ever seen (the Riefenstahl collection is absolutely "museum quality", and it belongs in a museum!), and it is remarkable in how wide ranging it is. This is a wonderful opportunity to get original first release movie paper on titles where you never ever see any first release items offered for sale (or if you do, they are priced so high that they are beyond the reach of all but the wealthiest of collectors)!

HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:
(to better help you find the sizes and countries that interest you)

1p001-1p022 incredible Leni Riefenstahl collection (presskit, stills, lobby cards, German & Austrian programs!)
1p023-1p077 "conditional" & "forbidden" German programs (movies made by the Nazis that were placed on a special list immediately after WWII)
1p078-1p110 German programs (1926 to 1942)
1p111-1p148 Austrian programs (1925 to 1937)
NOTE: Many of the above programs are INCREDIBLY rare due to paper shortages in WWII when most pre-war paper was recycled.

1p149-1p519 post-WWII German programs
1p520-1p734 post-WWII Austrian programs
1p735-1p772 East German programs

Important note about the Leni Riefenstahl collection at the start of the auction
The collector who assembled this remarkable collection of German and Austrian programs also located some wonderful other items from Leni Riefenstahl's movies, and we have listed those 22 Leni Riefenstahl items at the start of the auction. Included is an incredible deluxe presskit from OLYMPIAD, and wonderful first release German lobby cards and German stills from both parts of OLYMPIA, plus more! The Riefenstahl collection is absolutely "museum quality", and it belongs in a museum!

Important note about "conditional" & "forbidden" German movies
Immediately after the end of World War II, a list of around 100 Nazi-made movies was created, and it was decreed that those movies (called "forbidden" movies) could NEVER be shown again, due to their Nazi propaganda content (the most famous of these are the anti-Semitic ones, like JUD SUSS and THE ETERNAL JEW). Over the next decade, the list was re-examined, and it was narrowed down to around 40 movies. At that time, it was decided that the other 60 or so movies could now be shown, but those 40 remaining movies were declared "conditional" movies, meaning they are forbidden to be shown in Germany or Austria, even in the present day, with the sole exception being when they are shown in an educational context, like at a university, and a speaker talks before and after the movie. The collection we are auctioning includes many programs from movies that are on solely the "conditional" list, as well as programs from movies that are not "conditional", but are on the "forbidden" list, and also a very few programs from movies that are not on either list, but which likely should have been on one or the other! In every case, we have clearly noted on the auction which list the movie is on.

About the condition
Note that we give an overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few graded "poor") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much only if they are defects that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the item for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

Payment Options

U.S. orders (and ONLY U.S. orders) with flat rate shipping can quickly be completed via Credit/Debit Card or PayPal in our Checkout system.
If your order requires a shipping quote and you have received your quote, you may pay via PayPal manually to "mail@emovieposter.com", but know that PayPal has many glitches, so you need to e-mail us separately stating that you completed payment Learn More Here are step-by-step instructions if you need help paying manually with PayPal.

For both U.S. and non-U.S. orders:

We accept all major credit cards via phone at +1 (417) 256-9616 during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except from 12 to 1 when we take lunch), via e-mail, or via fax at +1 (417) 257-6948.

If your order requires a shipping quote, please request it through our Checkout system. Please note that we are still developing this checkout system, so while you may request your quote using it, we do not quite have it ready to complete payment (although we hope to have that added soon), but payment may still be completed using whatever method you have used in the past. If you run into any sort of problem requesting your quotes, please e-mail Phillip right away so we can get it addressed.

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers need to enclose $11 shipping (which includes full insurance)!
Missouri customers: You must pay an additional 7.162% sales tax on your purchases.  If your order is sent within the state of Missouri, we MUST collect this tax (if it is shipped to another state, we do not collect the tax).

Will your order be shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $3.00 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it up.  But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.
IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!

You CAN usually combine shipment!

NOTE: These Sunday items need to be sent in flat packages so...

*they can be combined with these auctions (Note the higher U.S. shipping cost of some auctions):

Thursday May 3rd items in Part III of our Spring Mini/Major Auction
Tuesday May 8th folded one-sheets
Thursday May 10th complete and incomplete lobby card sets
Tuesday May 22nd window cards, French posters, & more ($15)
Thursday May 24th single 8" x 10" stills

*they must be sent separately from these auctions for an additional shipping charge:

Sunday April 29th linenbacked items in Part I of our Spring Mini/Major Auction
Tuesday May 1st items in Part II of our Spring Mini/Major Auction
Sunday May 6th oversized items in Part IV of our Spring Mini/Major Auction (NOTE: If anything can be combined safely, we will do it)
Thursday May 17th large & oversized rolled posters (NOTE: We will only combine these if it is safe to do so without damage, and note too that this set of auctions ship for the actual cost of shipping do to the heavy & larger nature of the posters it contains)
Sunday May 20th rolled one-sheets

Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next five sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $11 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $3, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen and a separate printed invoice mailed to you.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 4 consecutive weeks (a total of 12 auctions and around 8,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money!  Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our non-U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

Learn more about how to save money on shipping by shipping to friends/family in the U.S., insurance, and customs fees.

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions (note these are ESTIMATES only, and your actual shipping may vary considerably)
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance)

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian/Asia/Japan Everywhere Else (inc Europe)
Priority Mail Int'l - Uninsured $27.51 / $33.21 $39.20 $42.05
Global Express - Uninsured $36.90 / $42.84 $46.01 $48.88
First Class (under 4 lbs ONLY) $12.15 / $17.45 $20.88 $20.88

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $3 outside the U.S.)!

You Can Add More to Your Order
In addition to our current auctions, we offer many other non-auction items. Please note that the items in this set of auctions will be sent in flat packages, so you can add any item that can also be sent in flat packages for little or no additional shipping costs (NOTE: if we can add it to your package without raising the cost of shipping, then we will do so with no added shipping charge, but if it raises the cost then you will need to pay the difference). We have noted below whether the items can be shipped rolled or not.
