Special Notes About The Items in This Week's
Sunday Auctions
HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:
(to better help you find the types of items that interest you)
NOTE: EVERY item in this auction has an
authentic signature on it which was hand signed onto that item by the
celebrity (some of the items are reproductions which the celebrities signed,
but those are clearly marked, and the ones that are not marked "REPRODUCTION"
are original vintage items). THIS IS A REALLY REMARKABLE OFFERING (which primarily comes from three wonderful collections), and if you have the
slightest interest in autographed items, then you won't want to miss this
auction!

Where are the many bulk lots and our usual "Sunday items"
regularly offered on Sunday?
We are taking a break from our regular Sunday
offerings of magazines, scripts, glass slides, German programs, and bulk
lots this week while we offer signed items this week, but know that
we have a HUGE
number of items waiting to be auctioned in our "regular" Sunday auctions, so
please know that
they will return in six weeks on Sunday November 21st (because we have
several different types of auctions scheduled for the next few Sundays),
and almost every week thereafter.Â
About
the Autographed
Items We Are Offering      Note that
a high percentage of these autographed items come to us from
several different collectors who spent decades assembling their collection.
We have put a paragraph (or sentence) on each auction, giving the history of
how the consignor obtained the autograph (to whatever degree we know). The remaining
small percentage of items were consigned to us by either collectors or dealers who
purchased them from reputable autograph sellers between 10 and 30 years ago,
and we believe those to surely be authentic autographs as well.
IN EVERY CASE, WE HAVE GIVEN
ALL OF THE INFORMATION WE KNOW ABOUT WHERE THE
AUTOGRAPH WAS OBTAINED IN THE AUCTION DESCRIPTION FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL ITEM.Â
A very few of the
items come with a "Certificate of Authenticity", but the vast majority do
not. Please read over each auction description carefully, so you will
know all we know about the provenance of that item.
Note that this is the third of our special "all signed"
auctions! We had intended to include around 700 items in this auction, but
we were only able to include 393, so the remainder of the items will be in
an additional "all signed" auction which will be held beginning on November
7th, ending on November 14th. All of the main consignors (the longtime
collectors who consigned the bulk of the items) have told me that they will
give anyone who purchases any of these a 30 day return privilege on any of
these autographed items, because they KNOW them to be genuine, and of
course, that gives every buyer plenty of time to be 100% certain that they
have purchased a genuine autograph!
Remember that most of these items are vintage, but that some are reproductions, and that we always clearly identify which is which.Â
But, IN EVERY CASE, every one of these items was personally signed
by the person listed! We know they make wonderful special gifts to those
friends or family who you know really like a specific celebrity! Â Â Â This
auction contain 393 personally
signed (autographed) items, with lots of top stars from all years
and genres!
About the
Condition     We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are less than "good to very good") along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the
still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
About Surface Scuffs and Creasing on
Stills    As anyone who looks at old photos knows, twenty to eighty year old photos are almost certain to pick up faint scuffs and creases in the surface emulsion of the photo. Vintage stills are the same way. But when these creases and scuffs are light, you can't see them when you look directly at the still from straight on, but you CAN see them when you tilt the still to the light. We don't consider this a major defect, because we don't know anyone who displays their stills tilted to the light. So if a still has minor scuffs and creases that are not very visible when it is viewed straight on, we still grade it as "very good or very good to fine" (or a higher grade). The only exception to this is if there are scuffs and creases throughout the entire still. Then we grade it as "lesser" (or a lower grade), even if the scuffs and creases are not visible when looked at straight on. We DO feel most collectors can accept minor surface scuffs and creases that can hardly be seen from straight on and are relatively minor. If you disagree, you probably should think long and hard before bidding on the stills that we grade as "lesser", or "very good or very good to fine" (but you still likely will be happy with the stills we grade as "fine or better", because we won't give a still those grades if there are scuffs in the surface emulsion that are at all visible when the still is viewed head-on). |
U.S. Shipping Details
U.S. customers pay only $6 for shipping ANY
quantity of items in this set of auctions!
Because these stills can be sent in smaller
packages than posters or lobby cards, we charge just $6 U.S. shipping for
any purchases of solely stills. But if you purchase other items from
other sets of auctions, and you want us to add the stills to those, then you
will have to pay the higher regular U.S. shipping. Also note that we
don't give any bonus items with these stills, so that they can still be sent
in a small package for the $6 U.S. shipping rate. Finally, note that
we fully insure all U.S. orders, and we lose money on the shipping of most
orders of multiple stills (even if you buy 20 or 50 of these, you will only
pay $6 U.S. shipping for ALL of them!), but this way we reward those
who buy many items.
Note that while approximately two thirds of the items
in this auction are 8" x 10" or smaller, approximately one third of the
items are larger than 8" x 10" (but no larger than 11" x 14", in terms of
the size when the item is ready for shipping). Since so many of the items
are 8" x 10" or smaller, we are offering our $6 U.S. shipping rate on this
set of auctions, which we normally offer on auctions of stills. So no matter
how many of these items you purchase, you still only pay SIX DOLLARS
U.S. shipping for all the items!
Will your order be
shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature
to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will
need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery
Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the
package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it
up. But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other
special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.Â
IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE
WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!
You CAN usually combine shipment!
NOTE: These Sunday
items need to be sent in flat packages so...
*they
can be
combined with these auctions (but realize
that you will then have to pay the higher shipping on some of the
auctions as noted below):
- Sunday October 3rd Sunday auctions (ship for $10;
bulk lots can NOT be combined)
- Tuesday October 12th complete & incomplete lobby card
sets (ship for $10)
- Thursday October 14th single 8" x 10" stills
(ship for $6)
- Sunday October 17th single 8" x 10" portrait stills
(ship for $6)
- Tuesday October 19th folded one-sheets (ship for
$10)
- Thursday October 21st "really oversized" items
(actual cost of shipping)
*they must be sent separately from
these auctions for an additional shipping charge:
- Sunday October 3rd Sunday bulk
lots
- Tuesday October 5th items in Part I of our Fall 2010
Non-U.S. Mini/Major Auction
- Thursday October 7th rolled items in Part II of our
Fall 2010 Non-U.S. Mini/Major Auction
- Sunday October 10th rolled 27" x 41" one-sheets
|
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single
set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until
the next five sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions
(if possible), and that means there
is a chance you could combine items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and
FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).
DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS
UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $6 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details
Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order
(you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post
Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or
Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.Â
All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or
uninsured at the time they pay for their order.
Have you heard about our Pay and Hold
Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 4 consecutive weeks
(a total of 12 auctions and around 8,000+ items!), and we then send all your
purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click
HERE to learn more (if you are not one of the hundreds of our
non-U.S. buyers who are already part of this program)
Here is a chart
containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's
auctions
(note these are ESTIMATES only, and your actual shipping may
vary considerably, and if you solely purchase stills, the cost will be
much less)
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more
for each additional $100 of insurance) |

    IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these
approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if
you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very
securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of
course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask
us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order. Â Â Â
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large
"brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also
some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course
this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the
possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that
carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the
United States?
Some of our customers either
visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and
often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then
they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON
SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let
us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't
use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.
DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the
actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!
