Our Summer 2010 Mini/Major Auction has an incredible selection of posters (around 900 items in all!), covering all years and many different countries including exceptional linenbacked, paperbacked, and unbacked items and is being run in three parts:

  • Part I (Tuesday July 27th to August 3rd): 313 backed and unbacked inserts, window cards, half-sheets, lobby cards, campaign books, pressbooks & more
  • Part II (Thursday July 29th to August 5th): over 300 linenbacked posters (one-sheet size and smaller)
  • Part III (Sunday August 1st to August 8th): hundreds of unbacked "rolled" posters & oversized linenbacked posters

U.S. Shipping Details

IN THIS SET OF AUCTIONS ONLY (Part I of our Summer 2010 Mini/Major Auction), all buyers (U.S. AND non-U.S.) must pay the actual cost of sending your order, plus $2 for the packaging materials.

     IMPORTANT! In the past, many of our "mini/major" auctions solely consisted of linenbacked posters, so we could pack all of the orders in just a few extra days, even though many were expensive.  BUT IN THIS SUMMER 2010 MINI/MAJOR AUCTION, WE INCLUDE ALL DIFFERENT SIZES OF ITEMS (from lobby cards to linenbacked six-sheets), AND SOME OF THE ITEMS ARE UNBACKED AND FOLDED, SOME ARE UNBACKED AND ROLLED, SOME NEED TO GO IN LARGE FLAT PACKAGES, AND MANY ARE PAPERBACKED OR LINENBACKED!
    
 This means that there is NO WAY we can possibly pack all of the orders in just a few days, especially since there are over 900 items in all.  So we will be packing and shipping the items from this auction in the following manner:
     1) After the Part I items close on the 3rd, we will divide all of the items according to who bought what, but we will NOT pack them (we will repeat the procedure for the items that close on the 5th and the 8th).
     2) We will begin packing all of the orders (combining everyone's purchases from all three parts) on Monday, August 9th.  At that point, everyone should have sent us their mailing addresses, and we will begin e-mailing shipping quotes to all buyers on the 9th, but we will not be finished sending shipping quotes until the end of that week, at the earliest, due to the many hundreds of expensive packages we must create (and we will use our usual high quality standards to make sure that nothing arrives damaged!).
     3) This means that most orders will not ship until the week of August 16th, but we will of course make every effort to send all the orders out as soon as we can.  You can do your part to help us by sending us your mailing address as soon as possible after you are done purchasing, and by quickly paying once we send you your shipping quotes.
     4) What if you want your order sent more quickly?  We have our special "rush fee", which allows you to pay us $15 extra, and then we move your order to the "top of the stack".  If you have an urgent need to get your purchases quickly, then take advantage of this, or else wait until we process your order.
     5) THERE IS ONE EXCEPTION TO THE ABOVE!  If you purchase items from Part I only, and you know for certain that you will not purchase any additional items in Part II or Part III, then you should contact us with your mailing address on Wednesday, August 4th, and clearly state that you will not be purchasing any additional items, and then we will pack your order and get you your shipping quotes on Thursday or Friday.  But know that once your order is packed, it CAN'T be re-opened to add additional purchases, so solely contact us on the 4th if you are absolutely certain you are not purchasing from Part II or Part III.
     6) It is very complicated and nerve-wracking to pack hundreds of thousands of dollars of expensive posters and lobby cards in such a short time, and the above method will allow us to do so in the most efficient manner.  Please be understanding of our need to take this extra time to pack such complicated items.  If you have an urgent need to get your items, you can use our special "$15 rush fee" (details of this will be sent to you in your end of auction notification).

     Can we send your order in a less expensive way? We have purchased movie paper items many hundreds of times over the Internet ourselves, and we have seen the tubes that other sellers use (both the free kind and the kind purchased at shipping supply stores), and the protection offered by those tubes is spotty at best (those cheaper tubes will often get bent resulting in creasing or tearing to the poster, or in extreme cases, a tube can even lose a cap from an end resulting in the buyer receiving a tube but no posters!), so please do not ask us to use a lighter weight tube or less expensive packing materials to save on shipping, because we won't do it!  We know that once you see our tubes you will agree that they are a great investment in protecting your purchase(s) and you will wonder why other sellers of vintage movie paper do not use these same tubes (and if somehow you don't agree with us, we ask you not to bid at all)!

You CAN usually combine shipment!

NOTE: These Tuesday items need to be sent in different types of packages which means that we can NOT tell you what your order can be combined with until we know exactly what you purchased from this Part I (and if you purchase items from Part II or Part III, we will pack them in as few packages as possible).

Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next five sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR CURRENT ITEMS IN THESE MINI/MAJOR AUCTIONS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING PLUS $2 FOR PACKAGING MATERIALS (and remember this also applies to U.S. buyers, this week only)!


Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

     IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear this shipping cost in mind BEFORE your place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order, AND WE WILL NOT DO THAT!
    Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
