Special Notes About This Tuesday's Items
About The Shipping of Our Current
700
Items
All of the posters we are currently auctioning are "oversized", meaning that
most of them can't be sent in our regular standard-sized flat mailers (and NONE
of them can be rolled in a tube). This means you will have to pay $12 U.S.
shipping rather than our standard $10 U.S. shipping, because the packages are
larger and cost us at least $2 more to send. If you live outside the U.S., the
rates will surely be higher than our standard sized packages, and maybe quite a
bit more, depending on how many posters you purchase.
About "Oversized" 3-sheet & 6-sheet U.S. Posters
(three-sheets measure 41" x 81" & six-sheets measure 81" x 81")
This week we are auctioning a very large number of three-sheet
and six-sheet posters, including some very scarce titles, some of which may never have been at auction before. Most of the posters we are selling were actually used in a theater (all were printed intended for theater-use, but some never made it out of the poster exchange that distributed them,
and on the few that appear to have been never used, we clearly note that in
the item's condition), and they have defects typical with those acquired by a poster that has been attached to a wall and then taken down again. Some of the posters were used in theaters in other parts of the world, and some of those have "censor stamps" on them (but, unlike one-sheets with censor stamps, most three-sheets
and and six-sheets with censor stamps are stamped in unobtrusive places, often in the blank background areas; in addition, sometimes the censor stamps are relatively very small on these larger posters and are much less noticeable than they would be on one-sheets). MOST COLLECTORS OF THREE-SHEETS
AND SIX-SHEETS ARE ACCEPTING OF THE DEFECTS THAT THEATER-USED LARGER POSTERS ACQUIRE, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BID ON THESE POSTERS
(unless they are one of the ones we marked as having been never used). Most collectors of three-sheets
and six-sheets have them linenbacked and restored prior to displaying them, and they know that most of the defects theater-used posters acquire can be fairly easily restored during the linenbacking process. If you are like most collectors, and can accept the defects that most of these posters have (which WERE acquired during actual theater use!) then we think you will be very happy to have this rare opportunity to select from such a huge number of rarely seen larger U.S. posters!
About
Our Digital Images of Posters Printed in 2 or More Pieces, and of Larger Posters
Most of the three-sheets and six-sheets we are offering this week are printed in 2 or more pieces (because
they were made before printers had the ability to print such large posters in one piece, so they were normally printed in two
or four pieces; in the late 1970s, printers began printing three-sheets in a
single piece, and six-sheets in two pieces). To give you the best possible idea of what the poster will look like when the pieces are combined, as intended, we photograph each piece separately and then digitally "join" the images to show you what the entire poster looks like (when there are multiple pieces, they are printed with extra blank borders designed to overlap, so that the pieces can be combined to have a perfect "fit"). BUT THE DOWNSIDE TO PHOTOGRAPHING THE INDIVIDUAL SECTIONS BY THEMSELVES IS THAT THE LIGHTING IS NOT EXACTLY THE SAME WHEN WE PHOTOGRAPH EACH PIECE SEPARATELY. Often this leads to one part of the poster appearing darker (or lighter) than the rest of the poster. THIS IS DUE SOLELY TO THE LIGHTING AND DOES NOT MEAN ONE PIECE IS "DARKER" THAN ANOTHER! If one of our posters ACTUALLY has significantly different coloring from one piece to another, we SURELY note that in words. This same "lighter" and "darker" issue can occur in single piece posters, if they are very large (like three-sheets that are printed in a single piece), because the poster is so large that the lighting may vary from one area of the poster to another. But know that any color difference from one section of a poster to another, or from one portion of the poster to another, is purely due to photography and is NOT on the actual poster, and when you see the poster in person, you will see that this is correct!
About the Condition
Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and
only a few less than "good") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much
a general description of the defects, and we only describe specific defects if they are
the type that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe. |
Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone
at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5
PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us
payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!
If you like to pay via Paypal (our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"),
that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should
ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!
You can send a check
or money order
(if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775
If it is your
best payment option, you can pay by Western Union
(unlike SOME auction
sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be
responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping Details
As a special offer to our customers, U.S. buyers need to enclose $12
shipping no matter how many items you win!
Why $12 shipping this week?
This week only (because we are selling
"oversized" posters which do not fit in our standard mailers, and will need
to be sent in large oversized mailers, or between six heavy pieces of large
cardboard), all U.S. buyers must pay a total of $12 (twelve) shipping, whether
you buy 1 item or 100 (or any number in-between). Note that we FULLY
INSURE EVERY U.S. order we send! We will spend the shipping collected on
virtually all orders, and we spend far more on those that involve lots of
items and high dollar items.
WE ARE NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING!
THE $12 LIKELY WILL NOT COVER OUR COST OF SHIPPING
FOR MOST U.S. ORDERS (especially ones that include lots of posters), but we are keeping this special "$12 U.S.
shipping" rate this week, as a special discount to our buyers of
multiple items in our auctions, even though this means we will lose money on shipping
a high percentage of U.S. packages!
Will your order be
shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature
to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will
need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery
Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the
package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it
up. But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other
special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.
IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE
WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!
You CAN usually combine shipment!
NOTE: These Tuesday
items need to be sent in oversized flat packages so...
*they can be
combined with these auctions:
- Sunday January 24th movie magazines,
presskits, glass slides, and German programs
- Tuesday January 26th folded one-sheets
- Thursday January 28th vintage 8" x 10"
stills
- Sunday January 31st movie magazines,
presskits, glass slides, and German programs
- Thursday February 4th oversized flat
and rolled items (NOTE: You can combine with most of the "flat"
items from this auction, but you can't combine with the "rolled" items
because we never unfold and roll the items in this current auction so
know that if you also purchase rolled items, we will have to charge you
for two separate packages)
*they must be sent separately from
these auctions for an additional shipping charge:
- Tuesday January 19th rolled non-U.S.
posters
- Thursday January 21st rolled 27" x 41"
one-sheets
- Sunday January 24th or 31st bulk lots
|
Note that we not
only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of
EITHER Tuesday, Thursday and/or Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single
shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait
until the next three sets of auctions end (a total of six sets of auctions)
so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following
auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine
items from up to six of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single
shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We
KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than
we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders
virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all
our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN
THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).
DON'T BID ON OUR
ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $12 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details
Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of
shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but
know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only
send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you
have ever seen. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the
package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.
Have you heard about our Pay and Hold
Program?
This lets non-U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 4 consecutive weeks
(a total of 12 auctions and around 8,000+ items!), and we then send all your
purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click
HERE to learn more (if you are not one of the hundreds of our
non-U.S. buyers who are already part of this program)
Here is a chart
containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this
week's auctions

$1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance) |

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place
a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers
want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost
involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!).
Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a
damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large
"brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also
some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course
this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the
possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that
carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
Do you have a friend or relative who lives
in the United States? Some of our
customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives
within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a
U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN
SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize
that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to
return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will
want to keep your purchases.
DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the
actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!
