Our 9th Annual Halloween Auction is our largest
offering of horror, science fiction, and fantasy posters ever (roughly 2,800 items in all,
and it really is our best Halloween auction to date, in terms of both quantity
AND quality)!
This special auction is being run in four separate
parts:
-
Part I
ended Tuesday 10/28 and included 640 folded one-sheets and 334 lobby
cards (1 to 8 cards per title!) COMPLETED! $79,238
in sales!
- Part II ended Thursday
10/30 and included
957 inserts, half-sheets, many Japanese B2
posters, many Belgian posters, posters from 16 other countries, and rolled
one-sheets! COMPLETED!
-
Part III runs from Tuesday 10/28 to Tuesday
11/4 and includes 331 linenbacked posters, window cards, three-sheets,
six-sheets, and more! We know that once you see the items in this
section, you will agree that we saved many of the best items for the second
week!
-
Part IV
runs from Thursday 10/30 to Thursday 11/6, and includes
612 Australian daybills, German posters, vintage stills (both single stills and
groups), and more!
What distinguishes OUR
annual Halloween auction from
other major auctions? Only the lack of any reserves or buyers premiums,
enhanced images, over-graded items, and that condescending attitude that many
"major" auction houses have!
You will find a truly amazing selection of items from all years, sizes, and
countries, and you will only pay the actual cost of shipping (or less), and you
will get a great bonus t-shirt, even if you only buy one $1 item!
Start browsing and bidding right now in Part III of
our 9th Halloween auction in our
Tuesday Auction Gallery
and in Part IV using our
Thursday Auction Gallery! PREPARE TO BE DAZZLED
AND HIT WITH "SENSORY OVERLOAD"!

INCREDIBLE!
Every buyer from ANY part of our "Halloween" auctions receives a
great super high quality full-color printed t-shirt as a free bonus (even if you only purchase one
item)! We are giving
every buyer in ANY part of these special auctions the great full-color T-shirt pictured at right,
which shows the image from the one-sheet for Invasion of the Saucer-Men (we
will only be making as many t-shirts as there are different buyers in these auctions, so
it will be a VERY limited edition, and likely will become a
"collector's item" in its own right!). Given that you get this great full-color T-shirt with
any purchase, shouldn't you absolutely find
any one item to purchase from us from among the roughly 2,000 items in these
special auctions?
*Note: we give this shirt (which costs
us $9 to $11 each at wholesale, because they are very high quality) to anyone
who purchases one or more items in any part of our Halloween auctions.
BUT KNOW THAT YOU ONLY GET ONE SHIRT, NO MATTER HOW MANY ITEMS
YOU PURCHASE, AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU PURCHASE FROM ONE OR MORE OF THE PARTS OF
THIS SPECIAL AUCTION.
SUPER IMPORTANT!
Normally, you can pay for your purchases by simply adding
the total amount you spent, and then adding $9 for U.S. shipping (many of our
customers simply e-mail to "put this purchase on my card on file").
BUT IN THIS ONE CASE ONLY (because of
the bonus t-shirt), YOU NEED TO ALSO TELL US YOUR SHIRT SIZE!
We can't send your order unless you inform us of what size
shirt you want!

About The
Items In Part IV
Note that Part IV contains all the items that did not
fit in to the first three parts of the auction! You'll find items like
vintage stills (both singles and multiples, and both color and black and
white), Australian daybills, German posters, and some odd items like
programs, door hangers, and other unusual items).
A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE
346 LOTS OF STILLS Note that
the vast majority of these stills come to us from former theater owners and
from long-time collectors and covers a wide range of years.
SUPER IMPORTANT!
A FEW OF THE BLACK AND WHITE LOTS CONTAIN NINE OR MORE
STILLS, BUT FOR THOSE LOTS ONLY EIGHT OF THE STILLS ARE PICTURED! THE HIGH BIDDER ON
EACH LOT WILL RECEIVE THE NUMBER OF STILLS LISTED ON THE AUCTION, and NOT
just the eight pictured! We realize there is an element of gambling to
this, but we made no effort to find the best eight stills in the lot, and, if you
have any willingness to gamble at all, you may find that you get some great
stills that were not pictured! Please do NOT bid on these lots which
don't picture all of the stills unless you can accept that you are only seeing
eight of the total number of stills offered (each lot clearly states how many
stills are contained in it).
Finally, we know that you would likely hope that we could
make an exception "just for you" and find a specific lot and photographs or
describe the stills currently not pictured, BUT WE CANNOT DO THAT FOR ANYONE!
All of the still lots are completely sealed and ready for mailing.
A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT THE ORIGINALITY OF THE
346 VINTAGE STILL LOTS WE GUARANTEE THAT EVERY STILL IN THIS AUCTION IS ORIGINAL (just like the ones we sold in
many earlier weeks of still auctions)! Why? Because almost all of these stills
come to us directly from a former theater owner or a very longtime collector, and they only contain original stills, and YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT! We know you will agree these are surely original stills, but if you have the slightest doubt, you can return ANY still within one week for a no questions asked refund! I have sold many tens of thousands of stills, and I KNOW these to be genuine, and I also know this to be a remarkable collection of stills!
About Surface Scuffs and Creasing on Stills As anyone who looks at old photos knows, twenty to eighty year old photos are almost certain to pick up faint scuffs and creases in the surface emulsion of the photo. Vintage stills are the same way. But when these creases and scuffs are light, you can't see them when you look directly at the still from straight on, but you CAN see them when you tilt the still to the light. We don't consider this a major defect, because we don't know anyone who displays their stills tilted to the light. So if a still has minor scuffs and creases that are not very visible when it is viewed straight on, we still grade it as "very good or very good to fine" (or a higher grade). The only exception to this is if there are scuffs and creases throughout the entire still. Then we grade it as "lesser" (or a lower grade), even if the scuffs and creases are not visible when looked at straight on. We DO feel most collectors can accept minor surface scuffs and creases that can hardly be seen from straight on and are relatively minor. If you disagree, you probably should think long and hard before bidding on the stills that we grade as "lesser", or "very good or very good to fine" (but you still likely will be happy with the stills we grade as "fine or better", because we won't give a still those grades if there are scuffs in the surface emulsion that are at all visible when the still is viewed head-on).
MANY OTHER SELLERS WOULD ASK $4.99, $6.99, $9.99, OR MORE EACH FOR REPRODUCTIONS OF STILLS THE SAME OR SIMILAR TO THESE, AND MOST
OTHER SELLERS START SIMILAR ORIGINAL VINTAGE STILLS AT $14.99 OR MORE EACH
but you may be able to buy one or more stills from us this week for as low
as $1 PER STILL OR PER LOT OF STILLS (if you are the only bidder, but of course, there may well be other bidders; IN OUR AUCTIONS, THE FINAL PRICES ARE ALWAYS SET BY TWO REAL BIDDERS, NOT BY YOU BIDDING AGAINST AN ARTIFICIAL RESERVE OR "STARTING PRICE", which may well be "too high"). And these are vintage stills, which have collectible value, as opposed to reproduction stills, which have NO collectible value. About the Condition
of the Australian daybills NOTE THAT MOST OF THE AUSTRALIAN DAYBILLS
WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK ARE IN REALLY EXCELLENT CONDITION! Why is that?
Most of the daybills we are selling come from two very longtime Australian
collectors who collected these daybills over many years, and who found ones in
excellent condition. Rather than put "fine" on a huge percentage of the
daybills, we were especially harsh on our grading this week, and downgraded some
of them
to "very good to fine" or "very good" for extremely minor defects
(but we DID grade really wonderful examples as "fine"!). We felt this
would be more helpful to our buyers, rather than simply see "fine" on a
huge
percentage of the items! But if you see a daybill that is rated "very good to
fine", and you can't see anything wrong with it in our supersized image, know
that it probably IS in really wonderful condition, but that it has some
very minor defects!
About the Condition of ALL the Misc. Items and
Posters in Part IV
Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good",
and "good", with only a few graded "fair" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much
a general description of the defects, and we only describe specific defects if they are
the type that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.
If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the
item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

U.S. Shipping
Details U.S. buyers need to enclose $9 shipping (which includes full insurance)!
SUPER IMPORTANT!
Normally, you can pay for your purchases by simply adding the total amount
you spent, and then adding $9 for U.S. shipping (many of our customers
simply e-mail to "put this purchase on my card on file"). BUT IN THIS
ONE CASE ONLY (because of the bonus t-shirt), YOU NEED TO ALSO TELL US YOUR
SHIRT SIZE! We can't send your order unless you inform us of what size
shirt you want!
Why do we charge $9, when we used to charge $9 to $11 on eBay? We spend $9
(or more) on almost all U.S. orders, because we use such good, heavy
packaging (at least twice as strong as that used by most sellers), even on
low priced orders (because we believe a low priced item still deserves the
best handling)!
We USED to charge $11 for shipping on U.S.
orders over $100 when we sold on eBay, but now that we are auctioning on our
own site we have lowered that to $9, which is both our way of thanking those
who order a lot from us, and also our way of passing on our savings from not
paying eBay commissions to our customers!
You CAN usually combine shipment!
(NOTE:
This week's Thursday items can NOT
be combined with the rolled posters we sold on 10/30 and they can NOT be
combined with the linenbacked posters we are selling on 11/4; they CAN
likely be combined with some of the "oversized" items we are selling on 11/4
[but if they are combined with those items, you will have to pay the actual
shipping cost of all the items] and CAN
be combined with the folded one-sheets AND black and white single stills of
all genres we will be auctioning between
11/4 and 11/13 after our
Halloween auctions are completed)
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single week, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until
next week's auctions end so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions
(if possible), and since we do two sets of auctions every week, that means there
is a chance you could combine items from up to four of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE $9 U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).
DON'T BID ON
OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $9 U.S. SHIPPING!
|
Non-U.S. Shipping Details Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order
(you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post
Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or
Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.
All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or
uninsured at the time they pay for their order.
Note that we will assume that all non-U.S. buyers
want the great bonus t-shirt, unless they
specifically tell us they do not want it! We will roll the t-shirt
around your poster purchase and put it in the same tube, as long as we feel
we can do that safely, but of course, if you purchase any flat items from
one of the other sections of this auction, then we will put your bonus
t-shirt in with the flat items.
Here is a chart
containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this
week's auctions
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more
for each additional $100 of insurance) |

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear this shipping cost in mind BEFORE your place a bid (if
you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very
securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of
course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask
us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large
"brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also
some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course
this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the
possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that
carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the
United States? Some of our customers either
visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and
often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then
they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON
SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let
us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't
use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.
DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the
actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!
