"Crazy Bruce Hershenson" says, "We are currently selling
653 three-sheets, six-sheets, and Argentinean posters, and I thought I would offer each buyer this week our full-color
$20
Comedy Movie Posters book as an added bonus!" This collection contains 318 full-color
illustrations of comedy movie posters spread over 84 pages. It covers every type of comedy from the broad slapstick of Jerry Lewis, Mel Brooks and Jim Carrey, to musical comedies, to the great screwball comedies of the 1930s, and on and on! You'll find images from early silents up to the present day. We offer every one of our buyers this week a copy of this great book,
Comedy Movie Posters as a bonus, even if you just buy one
$1 item!
If you don't already own this great book (or maybe even if you do!),
then you should find any one of our many hundreds of items to buy,
just to get the bonus book! You may get Comedy Movie Posters AND
this item for as little as $1 plus shipping for both (if you're
the only bidder)! Is this not almost "too good to be true"?

Special Notes About This Tuesday's Items About The Shipping of Our Current
653
Items
All of the posters we are currently auctioning are "oversized", meaning that
most of them can't be sent in our regular standard-sized flat mailers (and NONE of them can be rolled in a tube). There are possibly a few exceptions (see our shipping section below). This means you mostly will have to pay
slightly greater than normal shipping (especially if you live outside the U.S., as the U.S. Post Office
has increased their rates), but we try to offset that by giving you a bonus
example of
Comedy Movie Posters for NO additional charge.
About "Oversized" U.S. Posters
(three-sheets which measure 41" x 81" & six-sheets which measure 81" x 81")
This week we are auctioning a very large number of three-sheet
and six-sheet posters, including some very scarce titles, some of which may never have been at auction before. Most of the posters we are selling were actually used in a theater (all were printed intended for theater-use, but some never made it out of the poster exchange that distributed them,
and on the few that appear to have been never used, we clearly note that in
the item's condition), and they have defects typical with those acquired by a poster that has been attached to a wall and then taken down again. Some of the posters were used in theaters in other parts of the world, and some of those have "censor stamps" on them (but, unlike one-sheets with censor stamps, most three-sheets
and and six-sheets with censor stamps are stamped in unobtrusive places, often in the blank background areas; in addition, sometimes the censor stamps are relatively very small on these larger posters and are much less noticeable than they would be on one-sheets). MOST COLLECTORS OF THREE-SHEETS
AND SIX-SHEETS ARE ACCEPTING OF THE DEFECTS THAT THEATER-USED LARGER POSTERS ACQUIRE, BUT IF YOU ARE NOT, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BID ON THESE POSTERS
(unless they are one of the ones we marked as having been never used). Most collectors of three-sheets
and six-sheets have them linenbacked and restored prior to displaying them, and they know that most of the defects theater-used posters acquire can be fairly easily restored during the linenbacking process. If you are like most collectors, and can accept the defects that most of these posters have (which WERE acquired during actual theater use!) then we think you will be very happy to have this rare opportunity to select from such a huge number of rarely seen larger U.S. posters!
About
Our Photos of Posters Printed in 2+ Pieces, and of Larger Posters
Most of the three-sheets and six-sheets we are offering this week are printed in 2 or more pieces (because
they were made before printers had the ability to print such large posters in one piece, so they were normally printed in two
or four pieces; in the late 1970s, printers began printing three-sheets in a
single piece, and six-sheets in two pieces). To give you the best possible idea of what the poster will look like when the pieces are combined, as intended, we photograph each piece separately and then digitally "join" the images to show you what the entire poster looks like (when there are multiple pieces, they are printed with extra blank borders designed to overlap, so that the pieces can be combined to have a perfect "fit"). BUT THE DOWNSIDE TO PHOTOGRAPHING THE INDIVIDUAL SECTIONS BY THEMSELVES IS THAT THE LIGHTING IS NOT EXACTLY THE SAME WHEN WE PHOTOGRAPH EACH PIECE SEPARATELY. Often this leads to one part of the poster appearing darker (or lighter) than the rest of the poster. THIS IS DUE SOLELY TO THE LIGHTING AND DOES NOT MEAN ONE PIECE IS "DARKER" THAN ANOTHER! If one of our posters ACTUALLY has significantly different coloring from one piece to another, we SURELY note that in words. This same "lighter" and "darker" issue can occur in single piece posters, if they are very large (like three-sheets that are printed in a single piece), because the poster is so large that the lighting may vary from one area of the poster to another. But know that any color difference from one section of a poster to another, or from one portion of the poster to another, is purely due to photography and is NOT on the actual poster, and when you see the poster in person, you will see that this is correct!
About the Condition
Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few graded "poor") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much
a general description of the defects, and we only describe specific defects if they are
the type that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe. |
Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone
during regular our business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5
PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us
payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should
ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

or money order
(if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson

P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775If it is your
best payment option, you can pay by Western Union
(unlike SOME auction
sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be
responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping
Details
U.S. Shipping is only $10 this week, no matter how many you purchase!
As a special offer to our customers (because we now auction directly
ourselves, and can better afford to give discounts to our buyers!), all U.S. buyers need to enclose
JUST $10
shipping no matter how many items you win in this set of auctions (when we
sold these same sizes on eBay, we charged $13 shipping)!
Why $10 shipping this week?
This week only (because we are selling
"oversized" posters which do not fit in our standard mailers, and will need
to be sent in large oversized mailers, or between six heavy pieces of large
cardboard), all U.S. buyers must pay a total of $10 (ten) shipping (which is
just $1 more than our regular shipping when we don't sell "oversized"
posters), whether
you buy 1 item or 100 (or any number in-between).
Note that we FULLY
INSURE EVERY U.S. order we send! We will spend the shipping collected on
virtually all orders, and we spend far more on those that involve lots of
items and high dollar items.
WE ARE NOT TRYING TO MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING!
In fact, when we sold these sizes of posters on eBay in the past, we
charged $13 for U.S. shipping, but we are making this "$10 U.S.
shipping" offer this week, as a special discount to our buyers in these new
auctions on our site, even though this means we will lose money on shipping
virtually every U.S. package!
You CAN usually combine shipment!
(NOTE: This week's Tuesday items must be sent
in "oversized" flat packages and CAN be combined with the one-sheets we sold
July 15th and the German posters and Mexican & Spanish/U.S. lobby cards that close July 17th,
but you CAN'T combine them with the unfolded posters we are selling from
July 17th to 24th, because those need to be sent rolled in a tube)
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single week, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until
next week's auctions end so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions
(if possible), and since we do two sets of auctions every week, that means there
is a chance you could combine items from up to four of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE $10 U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).
DON'T BID ON
OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE QUOTED SHIPPING ($10 for U.S. shipping)!

Non-U.S.
Shipping Details
Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via
Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.
Note that SOME of the posters we are selling this
week will fit in our standard mailers, usually if they are purchased by
themselves!
Some of the folded three-sheets we are selling were folded perfectly evenly, and those still can fit in our standard mailers. However, this is not true of many of the three-sheets, because most of them were actually used in a theater, and they were refolded slightly unevenly, which means they do
NOT fit in our standard mailers. We are telling you this because, if you solely purchase items that WILL fit in our standard mailers, we will pack them that way, and then reimburse you the excess shipping (if you already paid it), or only charge you the lower shipping amount, if you have not yet paid when we pack the item. KNOW THAT WE WILL PACK EVERY ITEM IN THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY (so as to save you shipping), BUT OF COURSE, WE WILL NOT PACK ANYTHING IN A LESS SAFE WAY, JUST TO SAVE A FEW DOLLARS ON SHIPPING!
Here is a chart
containing estimated shipping charges for up to TWO three-sheets,
ONE six-sheet, or 4 Argentinean posters from this
week's auctions.
Note that orders of under $200 and of 3 or less posters can usually
fit into a soft "Calumet" cardboard mailer, which costs less to send, but
orders of over $200, or of 4 or more posters almost always need to be send
in a double-weight box, which costs more to send (see our chart below).
Also note that insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60
more for each additional $100 of insurance. |

Important Notice About Shipping Cost and How We Pack
Due to the major raise in U.S. postage rates to other countries, just about
any "oversized" package to most non-U.S. countries that weighs one pound or
more will be costly for Uninsured Airmail shipping (and this
includes all of our "oversized" packages that are too big for our regular
standard sized boards and boxes).
We pack "oversized" posters in one of two ways: if they are fairly
inexpensive, we use 2 pieces of extra heavy duty cardboard placed inside of
a soft "Calumet" cardboard mailer; if they are more expensive, we use two pieces
of extra heavy-duty cardboard, and then place the items in our double-weight
custom-made boxes
which creates a pretty indestructible package.
Please note that we conceivably COULD pack more
expensive non-U.S. "oversized" orders between two cardboards in a Calumet
which will lower the shipping cost, but the savings is only a few dollars, so we
just do not want to do that! Over the years, we have found that everyone
wants to save on shipping, but that NOBODY wants to get a damaged package,
so we just do not do this anymore, and PLEASE do not ask us to! If
you do not want to pay the shipping described above, THEN PLEASE DO NOT
BID ON ANY OF OUR ITEMS THIS WEEK.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but
that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that
there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate,
but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined
the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that
carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!
DON'T BID ON
OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!
IMPORTANT! NOTE
THAT WE GIVING A BONUS BOOK (Comedy Movie Posters) TO
ALL OF OUR BUYERS THIS WEEK, as a way to encourage
bidders to participate in our auctions and to thank our customers for their
support! However please note
that for non-U.S. buyers, we can only include the bonus book with non-U.S. orders if the
buyer is willing to pay the roughly $10 or more added shipping charge (because
the book will add around 1 pound to the weight of the package!).
