It's true! Many of our consignors are also collectors, and they often chose to use their proceeds to pay for their purchases.

While some of our consignors are selling their entire collection, many of our consignors are still active collectors who are "downsizing" their collection, or have shifted their interests, and they have items they no longer want in their collection. So, while they have shipped them off to us to auction for them (both because they know we will get them more than any dealer would offer them, and also because we get the highest prices overall and charge the lowest rates of any major auction), there are still items they are looking to add to their collections.

Or perhaps they are dealers who have consigned slow-moving inventory (or inventory in an area where they know we have lots of bidders), and yet they are going to also be bidding on other of our items, either because they are also collectors, or because they are looking for low-priced items in our auctions that they can re-sell later.

In both these cases, our consignors often end up paying for their purchases (causing US to pay credit card or PayPal fees) and then we send money back to them to pay for the proceeds of their consignments (causing THEM to pay credit card or wire fees on the money we send them). Obviously, this is silly for us to send money back and forth and pay fees each way!

WE HAVE A BETTER WAY! If you consign to us, you can leave the proceeds with us on your account, and use that money to pay for your purchases. Or, if you have made purchases, you can send us consignments, and when they sell, we can use the proceeds to pay for your purchases. We have done this successfully hundreds of times over the years with dozens of consignors, and we will gladly do it with YOU, as soon as you say you want to do it. Just let us know, and we can both save a LOT of fees (this is especially true for those of you outside the U.S., because there are often "conversion fees" changing the money back and forth.
