An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 29 3/3" x 41" [76 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Veiled Beauty or Anticipation and Realization, the 1907 Vitagraph silent comedy short subject. Note that almost all of the earliest known standard movie poster one-sheets date from 1909 and 1910. Around 15 years ago, a tiny number of different 1907 one-sheets were discovered, and this is one of those posters! The poster is slightly different from the 1909 and later posters in that it has six scenes from the movie, and it measures 29 3/4" x 41", but it certainly qualifies as a "one-sheet" in the current meaning, and is one of the very earliest ones known for a specific movie from a major studio (and of course, since the poster has "Copyright 1907 by The Vitagraph Co.", there seems to be no possibility that it is not from this year). The poster had some tears at each crossfold and some small areas of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical foldline. There were some pinholes and tears in the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking (especially because it is over 100 years old!). The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
