'Baldy' Dhom) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this special Italian "one-sheet", which measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm], is a poster we have only seen once before. It solely has wonderful silhouette art of Prewitt playing taps for Maggio with the title, a reference to the 8 Oscars, the Columbia logo, and an artist's name in the lower left corner. It is printed in a "dayglo" fashion, with the title and lettering in fluorescent yellow (see our image). We can't say for certain if it is from the first release of this movie in Italy (if it is, it would seem to surely be a "teaser" poster, and it was first released in Italy after it won the Academy Awards), or possibly it is from an early re-release, but we lean strongly towards first release, especially because we are separately auctioning a similar poster for "Anatomy of a Murder", which is by the same artist and is also "dayglo", but that one does not have a Columbia logo. But please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept the uncertainty as to when it is from. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has paper loss at the middle crossfold and there are many creases, scuffs and some tears of varying lengths along the foldlines and edges, and the poster is somewhat fragile on the folds. But after it is linenbacked or paperbacked, it will look great, but bear in mind this expense before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
