An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 29" x 43 1/4" [74 x 110 cm]) (Learn More) El fantasma de la opereta (released in English-speaking countries as "Phantom of the Operetta"), the 1955 Enrique Carreras Argentinean musical comedy horror thriller starring Alfredo Barbieri, Amelia Vargas, Tono Andreu, Gogo Andreu, and Ines Fernandez. Note that this film is very loosely based on the classic The Phantom of the Opera story which has been adapted to several works, including a Lon Chaney film and an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. In fact, this version contains Frankenstein's Monster, The Wolfman and Dr. Jekyll (likely to cash in on the success of the Abbott & Costello films where they meet classic Universal monsters). Artist: Rafael Angel Faillace Important Added Info: Note that the poster artist added Frankenstein's monster and a wolfman to the poster, but from what we can find, they had nothing to do with the film! Also, note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Argentinean movie! Condition: good to very good. The poster is somewhat discolored (typical of vintage Argentinean posters) and there some tears of varying lengths and small areas of paper loss along the foldlines and edges.
