Artist: James Montgomery Flagg Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. Condition: good. Prior to being restored, the poster had a large number of uneven horizontal creases throughout, as though someone had roughly rolled the poster, and done so fairly tightly. This also resulted in some creases, tears, and tiny areas of surface paper loss on some of the creases, and there was a hole in the right of the image area (in the background). There were also faint smudges throughout the card. The person who paperbacked the card was able to minimize how noticeable the creases were through the backing process, but they are still noticeable, especially from close up. The restorer did some scattered paint restoration throughout, but obviously did not want to give the card a "dipped in paint" heavily restored look, and therefore, you can still see the smudges and signs of the defects. This card HAS been heavily restored, so please do not bid on it unless you have read the above carefully, and have carefully studied our super-sized image, and can either accept the card "as is", or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed. Of course, one might wait for a better condition example of this card (or any other original release poster from this classic movie), but that might take years, and the price for a nice condition example would certainly be extremely high!
