An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) The Barbarian and the Geisha, the 1958 John Huston historical Japan Asian political romantic adventure thriller melodrama ("The Geisha Girl They Sent to Love And to Destroy the Barbarian From the West!"; "Story by Ellis St. John"; about the first U.S. ambassador to Japan, Townsend Harris, who was appointed by President Pierce) starring John Wayne (as Townsend Harris), Eiko Ando (in the title role as the Geisha, Okichi), Sam Jaffe, So Yamamura, and Norman Thomson. Note that there is an embarrassing typo on the poster! Original author Ellis St. Joseph is billed as "Ellis St. John"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most half-sheet posters were folded once horizontally and once vertically right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded copy of most half-sheets, especially from before 1970! Condition: fine. This poster is in REALLY nice condition (what many dealers would describe as "fine" or "near mint")! It has NEVER BEEN FOLDED, and has only the very most minor of defects! We only put this "fine" grade on less than 1 in 7 of the posters we are selling. We saved it for the very best ones, ones that we thought would be acceptable to EVERY collector, no matter how condition conscious they are! Learn More about condition grades
