Of course, Hunter is best known for his 1950s romantic melodramas. Some of his best movies include: Airport, Pillow Talk, Imitation of Life, All that Heaven Allows, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He also had a longtime personal and professional relationship with Jacques Mapes for over 40 years. Hunter passed away in 1996 at the age of 75.
