An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Russian Export (printed for use in French speaking countries) Movie Poster (measures 32" x 45 1/4" [81 x 115 cm]) (Learn More)

Dersu Uzala, the 1975 (released in the U.S. in 1977) Akira Kurosawa Russian/Japanese Siberia adventure melodrama ("Kurosawa's Academy Award-Winning Masterpiece"; "There is man and beast at nature's mercy. There is awe and love and reverence. And there is the man called Dersu Uzala the Hunter"; "Grand Prize winner Moscow Film Festival"; "Roger Corman presents a film by Akira Kurosawa"; set in Siberia and filmed during the Cold War!; winner of the Best Foreign Language Academy Award) starring Yuri Solomin, Maksim Munzuk (in the title role as Dersu Uzala), Vladmir Kremena, Dmitri Korshikov, and Svetlana Danilchenko. Note that this movie is based on the 1923 book of the same name by the Russian author Vladimir Arsenyev, which is autobiographical, and tells of his journey to Siberia, where he meets Dersu Uzala, a man who he greatly admires because he treats animals and plants as equal to humans, and he explored the wilderness with Uzala, and invited Uzala to live with him!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this Russian poster was printed in Russia, but was intended to be used when the movie was shown in French speaking countries (we don't know for certain that it was used in French speaking countries, because there is only the title on the poster, but it is close to a French size, so that is our best guess). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.

Condition: very good to fine. The poster was tri-folded in each direction and it has very minor fold and border wear.
