She is best remembered for a movie in which she didn't say a word, Going My Way! She played Father Fitzgibbon's mother, and she is in one of the most memorable Hollywood endings of all time! Interestingly, she did not begin her acting career until 1940, when she was 78 years old, and continued acting for 20 years, last performing in 1960, when she was 98 years old! Some of her other movies include: The Human Comedy, Witness to Murder, and Street of Chance. She passed away in 1961 at the age of 98 Important Added Info: Note that BOTH the letter AND the card have been personally autographed (signed) by Adeline De Walt Reynolds! Note that this auction contains a handwritten signed letter from Miss Reynolds, a signed photo of her, and a printed resume sheet showing all her movies from 1940 to 1945, plus a printed poem that was dedicated to her after the author saw her in "Going My Way". The winner of the auction will receive all four items (see our images). Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
