An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) She Asked For It, the 1937 Erle Kenton romantic mystery writer detective murder screwball comedy ("Screen Play by Frederick Jackson and Theodore Reeves"; an incredibly wacky story of a young couple who live off of the husband's rich uncle, and the uncle dies, and their cousin cuts them off, but then the husband becomes a successful mystery writer, and he poses as a famous detective so that he can get ideas for more mysteries, and while he is pretending to be a detective, he discovers that his cousin murdered his uncle!) starring William Gargan, Orien Heyward, Vivienne Osborne, Richard Carle, and Roland Drew NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This was printed by Associated Displays Corporation which was a company based in New York City. Before it was discovered by noted poster dealer/historian Walter Reuben, collectors did not know the name of this company (and thought it to be located in the Midwest), and it is often referred to as the "other company" (and we will continue to refer to it that way, since collectors know it that way). From 1936 to roughly 1941, this company printed its own one-sheets and lobby card sets (and a very few inserts, half-sheets, three-sheets, 40x60s and stills) for three major studio movies (Warner Brothers, Paramount and United Artists, but no other studios). The items almost always feature a tiny legal disclaimer and cast credits only. The posters and lobby cards are from the original release of the movie, and almost always have completely different artwork from the regular studio release. They did this by combining elements from different film scenes onto one poster or card. Sometimes, "other company" posters have images that are the equal of those from the regular studio release posters. Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
