Rainier Brewing Company was a Seattle company that produced Rainier Beer from 1878 to 1999. The company was founded by A.B. Rabbeson and it went through many name changes in the early years. Rainier ran a number of memorable ads which included the Running of the Mountain Fresh Rainiers (a parody of Running of the Bulls featuring bottles with legs), frogs that croaking "Rainier Beer" (a motif appropriated many years later by Budweiser), Mickey Rooney and his wife appeared in several TV ads, there was a Flash Gordon/Star Wars poster called "Fresh Wars", and a Tarzan-like character named "Barzan" where his yell is "Raaaiiinniiieeer!"
