The Foxes of Harrow, the 1947 John M. Stahl Louisiana historical romantic melodrama ("Based on the novel by Frank Yerby"; "20th Century-Fox Sensation!"; about the rise and fall in New Orleans plantation society during the 1820s) starring Rex Harrison (as Stephen Fox), Maureen O'Hara, Richard Haydn, Vanessa Brown, Victor McLaglen, Patricia Medina, Gene Lockhart, Charles Irwin, Hugo Haas, Dennis Hoey, and Suzette Harbin (uncredited on the posters, she was a beautiful young black actress who appeared in a small number of movies in the 1940s, most notably in this one, in an important role where she is a slave who does not want her baby to be a slave; it seemed she might get the sort of roles that Lena Horne was getting, but that never materialized; if anyone knows more about the career of Suzette Harbin, and why she had such a limited number of parts, please e-mail us and we will post it here)
