A Chinese Propaganda Poster created by the Communist Party of China to sway domestic and international opinion in favor of its policies. China in the era of Mao Zedong is known for its constant use of mass campaigns to legitimize the state and the policies of leaders. The CPC successfully made use of modern mass propaganda techniques, adapting them to the needs of a country which had a largely rural and illiterate population.

Important Added Info: Note that we have seen modern reproductions of Chinese political and propaganda posters which are printed on modern paper stock (which is sometimes artificially "aged"). While the paper stock used for this poster is not modern like the reproductions, we cannot say for certain that it is from the date mentioned in the Auction Title. Please keep this uncertainty in mind when bidding.

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had a light water stain across the right 9" of the bottom border, very slightly touching a few letters. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
