Blystone (billed as "John Blystone") South Sea tropical island bad girl romantic love triangle melodrama (based on the play by Alfred C. Kennedy; about a ship captain who gets involved with a "bad" woman, but he doesn't learn that until after she's been on his ship, and he leaves her on a South Seas island, where she marries another man, and the captain goes after her when he realizes he loves her in spite of her past, but then the man she marries turns up dead, and even the captain thinks she killed him!) starring Spencer Tracy, Peggy Shannon, William 'Stage' Boyd, Irving Pichel, and Raul Roulien NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a lobby card (19 years ago), a herald (19 years ago), and a few stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this one-sheet! Condition: good. The poster has darkened somewhat. It has some light water staining in the upper background area, below the title, and very fortunately, most of it is in the white background, just slightly entering Tracy's hair. There are some pinholes, creases, and tears around the edges, with some small brown stains in the top right corner in the blank borders. There is a diagonal crease in the top right corner, and the poster was folded in half an extra time. This is the sort of poster that responds incredibly well to professional restoration, and after proper linenbacking by a talented restorer, it will display wonderfully, and since the light water staining can likely be removed chemically, it will likely require very little paint restoration anywhere on the poster.
