An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) A Walter Lantz Woody Woodpecker Cartune, the 1950 Walter Lantz animated animation cartoon comedy compilation ("The latest antics of the Nation's No.1 laugh bird!") starring Woody and featuring "other Walter Lantz Famous Cartune Characters". Of course, Woody Woodpecker is the animated cartoon bird created by Walter Lantz & Ben 'Bugs' Hardaway in 1940 for Walter Lantz Animation Studio. At first, the voice of Woody was supplied by Mel Blanc, but after several other people filled that position, Walter Lantz' wife, Grace Stafford, got the job! A balloon featuring the character has long been a staple of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and he has a star on on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also appeared in many comic books. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some tiny bits of paper loss on parts of some folds, with a few pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! There is a tiny bit of the poster in the bottom right corner that is "lifting" from the linen (an extremely tiny bit!), but that is something that could easily be addressed by any restorer or talented amateur in a matter of moments.
