This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). Note that we gave this condition grade to a very few posters that were in pretty good condition prior to linenbacking, but which were not all that well linenbacked, and which could be fairly easily re-backed with only minor additional restoration. The poster had a thin strip of paper loss in the white area beginning below the "O" of "BOND" and extending to the edge of the first "0" of "007". There was slight surface paper loss in the right of the bottom foldline, in the white area above the "W" of "WITH". Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was linenbacked many years ago, and the poster is coming apart from the linen across the bottom edge (it would be a simple matter for any talented restorer to remove this poster from the old linen and properly re-back it, after which it would look great!).
