An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Me, Gangster, the 1928 Raoul Walsh romantic love triangle gangster crime melodrama (from the story by Charles Francis Coe; about the son of a poor dock worker, and his father goes to work for a politician accepting graft, and that causes the son to decide to become a criminal, and he robs a payroll, and gets caught and is sent to prison, and meanwhile, he has a "good" girlfriend, played by June Collyer, and a "bad" girlfriend, played by a very young Carole Lombard!) starring June Collyer, Don Terry, Anders Randolf, Carole Lombard (billed as "Carol Lombard"), and Joe Brown. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. That is especially sad, because several people claim that this is the first true gangster movie that led to the cycle of wonderful gangster movies including Little Caesar, Public Enemy, Scarface, and so many more! We have only previously auctioned three 8x10 stills from this movie (and NO other movie paper at all) until we received this lobby card, which has a very unusual title design, which was done by Marion Jochimsen, who would become Fox's major lobby card designer, and she got to have a number of full hand-painted lobby cards, one of the only poster artists ever allowed to do so! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: good. There are tiny dot stains and tiny dot scuffs in the stars' faces, and the card has pinholes, scuffs, and dot stains around the edges. The back of the card has darkened, which caused slight darkening in the extreme outer edges of the front of the left, top, and right blank borders. Please look at our super-sized images to get a good sense of the exact condition of this card.
