Blazing! Glorious! It's great because it's real!"; "Glorious! Blazing!"; "The towering life triumph of John Ford who directed 'The Iron Horse', 'Arrowsmith', 'Men Without Women', 'Four Sons', and Pilgrimage'"; "From the story 'Patrol' by Philip MacDonald") starring Victor McLaglen, Boris Karloff, Wallace Ford, Reginald Denny, J.M. Kerrigan, Billy Bevan (one of the better Charlie Chaplin imitators of the time), Alan Hale Sr., Brandon Hurst, Douglas Walton, Sammy Stein, Howard Wilson, and Paul Hanson. Note that Sammy Stein was a professional football player in the NFL, playing there between 1929 and 1932. He then became a professional wrestler, and he then became a movie actor, appearing in 58 movies, almost always playing a bad guy, often a crook or an outlaw cowboy (likely one of the very few Jewish cowboys ever!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that there is a 1939 re-release, but these lobby cards, which have been trimmed and now measure 8" x 10 1/4", are surely from the 1934 first release, because enough of the title remains that you can tell for sure (because the title was on the lower left on the original release cards and on the upper right on the 1939 re-release cards. Obviously, one would much prefer to have these cards untrimmed (they were surely trimmed by some theater that used them in place of 8x10 stills!), but first release cards from this movie are beyond rare, so one could consider having these cards restored (but it would be expensive). Condition: fair. All three cards have been trimmed to 8" x 10 1/4". The one with the bare-chested McLaglen had a 6" tear at upper right going through his face, and someone put a piece of brown paper tape on the back of that area. The one with the men drinking from the water has surface paper loss in the left and right edges (see our images of all three trimmed cards). Please do not bid on these cards unless you can accept the defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored. Learn More about condition grades
