Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and many creases and tiny bits of paper loss in the top half of the vertical foldline, with a lesser amount of wear on the other folds. There was an area of paper loss in the top of the left blank border. There were some smudges and stains in the bottom right of the poster and across the bottom 4". Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. The poster was roughly handled after it was backed, and it is starting to re-fold along the foldlines. If I owned this great poster, I would immediately have it removed from the paper backing and properly linenbacked, and afterwards, it will look great, but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have further restoration performed!
