eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6g087 W PLAN insert 1931 blazing forth the story of what might have happened in World War I! Date Sold 5/10/2018Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The W Plan, the 1931 Victor Saville English World War I (WWI) military spy espionage action adventure thriller ("Blazing forth the story of what might have happened!"; "Fantastic...! Incredible...!"; "Blazing forth the story of what might have happened"; "From the novel by Gramham Seton"; about a German plan to destroy towns before the Allied troops can come to liberate them, and the heroes are a British spy and his German girlfriend who helps him; the odd title comes from the fact that the Germans have planted a huge number of mines in the shape of the letter "W"!) starring Brian Aherne, Madeleine Carroll, Gibb McLaughlin, Gordon Harker, and George Merritt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 insert posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 insert posters (note that most post-1970 inserts were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those inserts). Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example if it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: poor to fair. The poster is in much lesser condition. It has significant paper loss at center along portions of the horizontal fold and several of those areas have been crudely "restored' with paper and paint from the back. The defects are significant enough that the poster will need to be shipped in a flat shipping package to avoid further damage, so please bear in mind its significant defects and additional cost of shipping before placing a bid.
