His People, the 1925 Edward Sloman silent New York City romantic Russian/Jewish immigrants brothers family relationship boxing sport melodrama ("'The Knockout - and with it the chance of helping his father vanished"; "A sensational drama of the modern generation that has set the whole country talking"; about a Jewish family that immigrates to New York City's Lower East Side in the early 20th century; one son is a scholar who is adored by his parents, and the other is a boxer who supports his family, but who is scorned by his parents. The movie provides a pretty accurate portrayal of Jewish life in the Lower East Side in the 1920s) starring Rudolph Schildkraut, Blanche Mehaffey (billed as "Blanche Mahaffey"), Kate Price, George J. Lewis, Edgar Kennedy, Rosa Rosanova, Robert Gordon, and Albert Bushaland. Note that Rudolph Schildkraut is the father of Joseph Schildkraut. He was a film and stage actor in Germany who last starred in 1921s Theodor Herzl, der Bannertrager des Judischen Volkes (The Wandering Jew), and his son Joseph was in the film as well. Rudolph emigrated to the U.S. in the early 1920s and starred in ten U.S. films before his passing in 1930.
