He was a major star at Paramount in the 1920s and 1930s. Some of his movies include: Cimarron (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), The Vanishing American, Redskin, and The Ten Commandments. He passed away in 1949 at the age of 56. His son, Robert Dix, was an actor who was just 14 when his dad passed away, and Robert passed away in 2018 at the age of 83. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Richard Dix! Also note that this still measures 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm]. The consignor of this autographed item (and a number of other signed items in this auction) is a longtime autograph collector who does not have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for this item, but he feels certain it is genuine. Many of the items he has consigned were purchased from an autograph store that was going out of business when the owner retired, and many of the items he has consigned to this set of auctions come from this purchase.
